Bakit Ganun? Nakaka Frustrate!

enxymenxym SydneyPosts: 10Member
Hi. I'm Marc. I've been here in Oz for three months. Within the three months I have been busy sending my resume to possible employees on my field (Pharma / Food). Whenever I see a phone number on a job role posted lets say in Seek, I call them. I ask them if the job position is available to people with valid Visas (I have a 476 visa by the way). They ask "If you have local experience". I always say na "Yes, I'm into trades" (which is unrelated to the scientific experience that I have... Pambayad lang ba sa gastusin ganun). Ang nakakainis is that they always say that they are looking for people with local experience on that certain field (eg. QA Analyst, Lab Chemist) ganun. Haaay. If they won't give chances to foreigners, how can they prove themselves? Take note: I've been applying for both contract and temporary roles. Kung may kakilala lang sana ako sa loob ng isang Pharma or Food company nagpa simpleng "ipasok mo naman ako jan oh" that people usually do here. LOL. Can you share your job seeking experience. Or anything. I just needed to vent out my frustration. Bahaha!

**i am still crossing my fingers and i am not losing my hope dito sa Australia...napapaisip na kase akong bumalik ng middle east at in-demand kame dun! haha

***dont lose hope brod...ganyan talaga...we are integrating e, bago lang tayo dito at we need to be more resilient...

Pareng @dhey_almighty . Tama ka we need to be resilient. Or if you are not naturally resilient, you will be forced to be resilient. Hindi ko lang talaga siguro kinaya kaya I vented this out. Meron pa nga na ibang recruiter na ayaw kang tanggapin dahil "You have a work limitation, your visa expires after 18 months". Me internally, "Huh? lahat naman ng Visa may expiration ha. Sinasabi ko nga sa friend ko na Aussie to and she says "They're crazy". Salamat sa pag reply. It feels good that you are not alone. Haha

***wag kang panghinaan ng loob, just enjoy what you are doing right now and have more faith in Him... :-)

May referral but dont expect na tangap kana agad. Good luck. cheers

    @TotoyOZresident tumpak!

Nabuhayan ako ng dugo dun ah. Oo nga @dhey_almighty. panalo yung matamis na tagumpay mo brad. Tagaaay (kahit hindi ako umiinom. LOL). Regarding referrals on skilled workers. I have 2 friends (new here in Oz) who were just referred kaya nakapasok. Both are also engineers pero naiba ang direction from their original industries sa Pinas. Parang I'll stick to what @totoyozresident said na wag umasa sa referrals. Based on what happened to them, parang ayoko umalis sa Pharma field. Pero dito kasi you don't get to be choosy lalo na sa Visa ko na kailangan makahanap ng engineering job within 6 months and stay there for a year to apply for a 489 visa. Just what I always say...

ahh, regional pala ung 489..hehe now ko lang nalaman...so bale sa province ka lang pwede mag work? okay nga un, sabi kase nila mas mababait daw ang mga Aussie sa mga province...hehe :-)

Wait. may mali sa visa number ko. I think its not 489. Balikan kita @dhey_almighty. Im at Sydney now.

Im still setting my hopes high pa rin but lessen my expectation. There's no turning back for me and my family once umalis kami. Believe na magkakaron din tayo ng work. :)

So sana noh wag kayo mawalan ng pag-asa, Australia is a beautiful country at hindi nyo pagsisisihan ang pagpunta nyo rito.

I knew na kailangan ko balikan tong post ko na to. GUYS! After 1 week ng pagpost ko nito I had an interview inline with my field. Guess what, I was hired. The initial post was a temporary contract but the hiring manager needed the technical background that I had (Validations Engineer kasi ako sa Pinas) so she made the position permanent. After 3 months I got an Engineering job! Wuhoo!!! Learning experience, I think the Lord just broke me to the point of total surrender. BTW. Hindi 489 yung Visa na aapplyan ko next year. its 189 directly. :-)

Husay mo brad.. ako din idol syd. Pang 2nd month ko hanap work in accounting. I got a 189 visa.

my sharing ia that if you got some funds go to seminars like general assembly.com 35aud lng naman and wont break the nank that much. Pero its so great kasi you can learn so much na d mo makukuha sa pinas. Sampol. Data science.

Lastly in checking out how to be a cafe allrounder or a bar staff. Experience yun to interact with aussies para tou could be more confident.

wow! lonely-teary story turns into a happy ending ;)

question: binabalak ko na kumuha ng autodesk certified professional certification just to increase my skills habang nasa Phils pa ako, makakatulong kaya yun sa australia?

Hi, this is not a multi-level network marketing scheme. This is a sales and marketing company representing clients from the USA and UK.
