unless loaded ka, it would be very hard to buy a house upon arrival... i mean kahit may pang-down ka, not many would risk handing you a loan.

besides, this ain't singapore bro... at some point, you will be needing a car.

Pero seriously kotse muna kahit second hand. It will help you a lot in moving around australia, in your work, saves time, etc. Before ako bibili ng bahay aalamin ko muna kung ok sa akin yung lugar at gusto ko tlaga as it was major commitment financially. Baka kasi sa ibang states/lugar tlaga gusto ko. Aalamin ko din market kung timing ang pagbili, nakita ko na personally ung lugar, look for the best interest/financing scheme, decide on best house model for me, if ok yung community at mga kapitbahay, etc. Will research more before i decide.

@jayrcornelio, agree with what vhoythoy mentioned here. There is nothing wrong with purchasing a house first (provided you have plenty of cash) but I guess that would probably take time as you will need to do some research on good location, nice neighbourhood, and ideal price for the property. And in doing these things, you might probably be needing a car. Mas madali makagala dito sa AU kung may sariling sasakyan ka.

Ayos ito mate, ganito rin ang plano ko if ever man na makautang na ako ng sasakyan ngayong buwan. Tutulugan ko na lang muna kasi dko rin naman mailalabas kung wala akong kasamang nakafull licence. hahaha..

Mahirap kasi 20-30 yrs commitment. Kaya dapat spend more time for it unless nga money is not really an issue. Goodluck.

Maghanap ka muna ng trabaho full time then apply ka ng driver licence. Pag mayron ka ng driver licence staka ka bumili ng car bago o hindi. dipende sa budget mo. ihuli mo ang mortgage bahay.

Rent muna kapatid, bili kotse na abot kaya para may magamit then pagandahin ang credit rating para makahiram ng pera pambili ng bahay then saka magcontemplate bumili ng bahay. Matagal ang proceso ng pagloloan dito kaya I doubt na makakahiram ka agad sa bank for your house unless of course anak ka ni Napoles. haha!

Actually this is right, not unless you have a ton of money approximate maybe 60K$ ( around 3M PHP ) or more pwede ka mag loan sa bangko para bumili ng bahay this is for a 500K house

Grabe, kung politicians ka or mala napoles hindi ka na siguro magiisip ng ano ano hanapin mo na agad pinakamagandang condo sa CBD at bilhin right away, sarap buhay.

Unless you made a very good research na prior to arriving in Australia and have good amount of money then buy outright. Pagdating sa real property, i read somewhere na kung kayang bayaraan ng buo or malaking downpayment the better, much cheaper plus my discounts pa minsan. Patay ka kasi sa interest at other cost kapag matagal amortisation. Ingat ka lang talga sa house bubble.

kung pareho pa kayng may work ng partner mo, you'll probably need 2 cars at some point.

@Envy kinabahan naman ako dito kasi na-frustrate kasi ako mag-drive sa Pinas sa mga asal ng tao sa kalsada, samahan pa ng ubod ng tapang ng mga naka-motor akala mo kung sumingit e bakal katawan..

Anyway, mukhang kailangan ko mag-aral talaga mag-drive dito frustration ko talaga 'to e.

@jayrcornelio kung may pang downpayment ka na at least 20K AUD e makakakuha ka agad ng house...pero need pa rin yata ng full time employment at ang weekly payments ng bahay dito sa Oz is ranging from 400 to 600 AUD, depende kung saan location at kung gaano kalaki ang house... :-)

kotse muna ang bilhin mo, second hand car e oks na...then hanap ka ng job, ung stable at full time job at mas oks kung inline with ur work experience...

pag nakahanap ka na ng stable job, isipin mo nang magipon for the downpayment for the house...and a better car, i reckon! :-)

guys tanong ko lang, may difference ba sa pagaapply ng AU driver's license if meron kang international license sa pinas? o no bearing at you will still undergo the same process with those na may standard na lisensya?

@chapoy same process...take theory test and then practical driving test(VORT) to get your C licence
