They need to show that they have the financial capacity to support you. And also, prior to lodging a student visa application, I think you need to have enrolled already at a school in Australia. You need to include in your application a document stating that you are already enrolled at the school and just waiting for a visa. Not sure if the school and course needs to be CRICOS registered.

Thank you for your reply, i have another question: i am planning on getting a student visa subclass 572 for VET courses, philippines is assessment 3, who is allowed to be my sponsor? Can any of my aunt or uncle here in the phils sponsor me as long as they have funds? I have read somewhere that if your aunt or uncle will sponsor you, they need to be a citizen of australia..i dunno which is which..please enlighten me..WHO CAN SPONSOR MY EDUCATION IN AUSTRALIA? LIST OF ACCEPTABLE SPONSORS. I will be very grateful for your help.

Some visa types have a requirement where the funds have to be in the nominated bank account 2-3 months prior to submitting the visa application. I think that applies to Student Visa as well. So with that said, I think anyone can sponsor you for as long as the funds have been placed in your personal account

@trishaiara AFAIK tama si LokiJr ang kailangan lang is affidavit na they will be supporting you financially. Kailangan nila ipakita ang funds nila na abot dun sa required. Diko lang alam kung pwede kahit ilang sponsors. The best thing is to go to IDP makati then mag consult ka dun. Bibigyan ka nila nang lahat nang kakailanganin mong reqs. at breakdown nang estimated na funds. Dont worry free yung consultation sa Education Agents. Mag papa-appointment ka lang. Have you selected school nb s sydney? if yes, you should have a letter of offer n and mgbayad k n ng enrollment fee.
regarding s sponsor you need a affidavit n this person will sponsor you and your expenses s school and bank certificate & other paper that will guarantee they have funds for u.
ready all your papers and be certified.

Hi trish! my student visa application is ongoing na. it took me months of preparation para hindi masayang ang visa application fee hehe non refundable kasi kaya super research din kami re: student visa. Kakatapos lang namin mamedical and waiting nalang kami sa grant of visa ) from what i know, hindi naman kailangan sa account mo pa itransfer ang funds, kailangan mo lang pakiusapan sponsor mo na gumawa ng Statutory Declaration. 2 years din course ko, est. Au$36,000 ang show money for the 2year course, ang immig parin kasi ang magcocompute ng mga expenses mo at living cost sa australia. And true na kailangan atleast 3mos prior to lodgement of application naka place na sa bank ng sponsor mo ang money. Hindi lang ako sure kung kahit sino pwede magsponsor sayo. Kasi in my case sure na sure ako na pwede dahil immediate family (ate and brother ko), however, dinagdagan din namin support by submitting stat decs of my 2 aunts stating na willing sila magsponsor sakin in case kailanganin. Para dagdag tulong narin sa assessment ng diac )

Di na kailangan ng agent if meron naman magaasikaso na kapamilya mo sa australia ng course na kukunin mo. Kasi required na enrolled ka muna bago makapag lodge ng application.

Aug20,2011 Ielts Exam thru IDP Makati
(in between ganito kahaba preparation ko kasi im pregnant at that time, i just gave birth last Jan2012 kaya earliest na pwede ako makaalis and makapasok is July 2012 Intake, dependent ko pala son ko kasama siya sa application pero di ko na nilagay docs nya under req'ts kasi parang magisa ka lang naman aalis)
Mar14,2012 Set an appointment with PIASI Courier to pick up my application
Mar16,2012 Lodgement of Application sa Embassy thru PIASI Courier
Mar20,2012 Visa Application received at the Visa office of Australian Embassy Manila
Mar27,2012 Embassy Acknowledged receipt of my Visa application & Received request to undergo medical exam
(I need some time to prepare my body hehe para healthy kami pareho ni baby sa medical namen)
Apr02,2012 Medical Exam sa NHSI Makati.
Apr10,2012 Urinalysis Exam sa Nhsi Makati since i have my period pa last 2nd April.

Hanggang dito palang kami, after 10th April i'll update my post here )

I almost forgot, requirement din pala ang OSHC or insurance for your course duration. Ako Medibank kinuha namin for 2years. Mas makakatipid ka kasi if 2yrs na agad kaysa dun sa 6mos parenew renew. It cost us Au$2,000 plus kasama na baby ko dun kaya mura na )

Hi guys, just to drop an info that start march 15, 2012, philippines is categorized to country with assessment level 1 from previously level 2. This means that anybody taking up bachelor degree and applying student visa does not requiered to show financial details and does not requiered to take ELTS anymore. It is advisable to consult to your education agent and get the straight answer and prepare your enrollment before you stress out finding possibility on your own. Have a nice day all!

@LokiJr i have checked the site na rin po..medyo matagal na rin yung last posts dun..d na masyado na update. Marami na po yung naging changes sa immig ng Australia regarding student visa kaya yung ibang info dun medyo irrelevant na rin po. But from time to time I also try to check the site for needed infos.

hi po .. gusto ko sana magapply ng student visa pero wala pa ako idea maliban sa mga nabasa ko sa forum ...ano po b 1st step ko . 2 kasi kame ng sister ko balak mag.aral ako graduate ng bsn ang sister ko po undergraduate ng it . gusto sana namin kunin na course IT ung my diploma and the same time po makapagwork din sna duon. kelangan ko po kasi ng advice. thank you

sa akin yung ginawa ko I picked out a school from IDP's website, Checked out the fees if anu yung kaya ko..and the duration. tapos I contacted Idp that I want to enroll in the school. They will email you a student registration form. Then your adviser will tell you what to do next.

Reply to @japs: Mine with hubby and son, 2.7+++M. Like what I mentioned sa kabilang thread kapag school age ang baby mo isasama sa computation ang cost of study yata. Mine kasi is 2 years old.

ms @yakishih kahit hindi p kasama sa paglodge ko ng visa while doing the bridging course isasama na nila sila agad. kasi ako 5 and 3! so malaki yung proof of funds namin. thanks so much

Gusto ko lang mag-share baka makatulong. Regarding the financial requirement, certification of Time Deposit is acceptable. Lolo namin ang sponsor and yun lang ang sinubmit namin aside from the affidavit of support, of course. Cause I read somewhere na hindi daw pwede time deposit.

ask ko lang po.. about sa bank statements.. di ba po bank account 3 months prior to submitting the visa application ang kailangan.. halimbawa po, na bukas ako magpapasa .. august 24,2012 .. kailangan po ba from may 24 to august 24 ang ipapasa ko po? kasi sabi po ng uncle ko (na nasa australia) end of the month daw nagpapadala ng bank stat. nila.. so hanggang august 2 palang po ang hawak ko ngayon..( bale po ang susunod na statement na ipapadala sa kanila is from august 3 to september 2 po).. gusto ko na po kasi maipasa ng maaga ... paano po ba yon? thank you..

@nj87 - yes, your uncle has a valid point.. all/most banks issue bank statement at the end of every month.... meron din mga bank nag issue ng statement upon request.. but thats tedious and sometimes may fee pa...

pwede mo na sguro ipasa yan.. ung case officer nmn will ask for additional documents kung required eh..

What I mean na "kunwari" lang na may money sa bank which means you will just have to pay the interest once your visa has been granted.Eto nalang kasi ang kulang sa akin.Sometimes it is really "nakakawalang pag-asa"
