These cities are part of the top20 most liveable cities in the world, a survey by EIU. Google it :).

Makikisali lang din sa discussion hehe

In my case I plan to visit the major cities, at least Sydney and Melbourne, para makita ko lang muna kung saan ko mas gusto ko, like yung sinabi ni @rareking, in terms of cost, livability, weather, and job prospects...

syempre may mga research research na mangyayri before the big move, and although "visiting" the major cities is barely scratching the surface on what the city has to offer medyo magkaka-idea nako...

share ko lang din like nung hindi pa ako nakakarating ng US.. tingin ko, swak sa lifestyle ko ang New York, pero nung makarating nako doon pakiramdam ko masyado syang crowded, yung mga tao medyo____, yung pakiramdam ko hindi ako safe, lahat mahal, and the weather... minsan na ttake for granted ang weather, pero doon na yata pinaka-worse winter na naranasan ko..

Now nung makapag-stay naman ako ng San Francisco, mas nagustuhan ko doon kasi maraming Pilipino, andaming kalapit na States ng CA na maraming mapapasyalan, yung weather malamig din pero very similar to pinas, madaming engineering jobs sa Silicon Valley, etc..

so basically mas preferred ko na ngayon yung isa than the other.. kaya parang ganun din yung ineexpect kong mangyayari sa Oz

di ata kaya ng money ko ivisit lahat ng states bago mamili. haha. pero its a good idea na mavisit ko siguro muna at least 3 states then stay muna sa kamaganak tsaka maghanap ng work. meron ba kayo alam na reliable site/blog/forum section which will give good comparison on the cost, livability & weather? tamad lang magsearch. haha

Maraming factors, unang unang yung mga tangible things...once nasa isang state kana dun mo lang malalaman kung gusto mo ba or hindi.

Pinaka una sa lahat is kung makakakita kaba ng trabaho na gusto mo dun sa state na napili mo? Correct me if I am wrong, pero dun ata naka salalay lahat.

Like yung kinalakihan kong lugar sa Malabon, wala yata maganda dun lagi baha, dami pang gang/ adik pero i really enjoyed that place as compared nung lumipat kami sa Laguna, mas safe pero parang boring hehe. Iba trip province type, iba naman city life.

Take note though that visiting a place does not give you the whole picture (iba ang pananaw ng turista sa residente) but it will give you at best an idea of the area's geography, public transport, and maybe food and transport costs. Yung weather and other living expenses ma-re-research naman yan online. Find what fits your lifestyle and your needs.

Having said that there's a tiny part of me that keeps thinking what if I went to Melby, VIC instead?

Perth is not my first choice...pero doon may work na nag aantay, kaya doon ako....di pa ako na visit sa Perth...good thing is: same time zone sa Pilipinas and malapit sa Pinas so expected na cheaper airfare compared kung saan ako today.

No. Hindi po cheaper ang airfare from Perth to Manila. Wala ngang non-stop flight from Perth to Manila and vice versa eh. Usually stop over sa Singapore. Yung PAL direct flights lang to Sydney, Melbourne and Darwin (ata) tapos may CebuPac na to Sydney so, mas affordable.

    @RED
hi red... in my own point of view lang ha....maganda in the sense na CITY xa...hindi regional o outback...nabisita ko na ang Brisbane-Goldcoast, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra...ibat ibang kagandahan ang makikita mo...

Sa first question mo naman na anong state...agree ako sa nag comment na "kung saan may trabaho"

Di kami mahihirapan magkaron ng maraming networks both locals and Pinoys. And thinking na Melbourne ay palaging nasa top liveable cities in the world, parang mas nakadagdag yun sa desire kong doon tumuloy. Kung maayos ang status ng work ko dito, di ako lilipat ng ibang state kahit sabihin pang meron din opportunities for us in other states.

We've been to Brisbane, and sa 1 month na pagstay at work ko doon, namiss na kaagad namin ang Perth.

Even Australian in other states would say, ayaw nila tumira sa Perth kasi bushland daw dito. Ang sagot nila puro Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. Hindi kasi nila alam na malaki na ang pinagbago ng Perth from being a bushland to a beautiful city.
