Asking Salary in Australia for Singapore Expats

livin4jclivin4jc SydneyPosts: 70Member
Hi Mates, tanong lang po sana kung ano ang guidelines ng asking salary sa Australia (Sydney, Melbourne) for those na nagwowork sa SG like myself.

Let's say for example I am earning 10,000 SGD, how much should I be asking in Australia?

Salamat sa guidance.

I think irrelevant na ang income mo sa SG kasi magkaiba naman ang SG and AU totally :)

Search ka na lang po online sa mga average salary ng profession mo and you can start negotiating from there.

^Yup, exactly. No point comparing it to your former salary wherever you came from. Your basis would be the average salary for your position/industry and your skills/experience/qualifications for the role, plus consider the cost of living in the area where you'll be living/working in.

Yup, most of the time nga na downgrade pa ng position yung iba. Kung higher up position ka na dito sa Singapore or holding critical/ specialised role then better pa transfer ka nalang kung multi national naman ang Company mo. Baka medyo malapit sa monthly mo makuha mo.

Totoo. Kc pag nag apply kanaman sa oz hindi m na muna iispin ang sweldo. Ang mas important is makahanap ka kagad ng work. Sa salary expectation mo u have to consider the market rate, your experience tsaka syempre you dont have a local experience yet so baka mas mababa than your market rate. Sa case ng husband ko nasa mid level yung nakuha nya. Though binigyan sya ng idea ng recruiter nya nung salary range nya dapat.

Companies have their standard payscale for specific level. If ever they ask for your expected salary, it might just be to compare the chance of you accepting the job. Usually, pag tinanong nila yung expected salary, then sasabihin din nila kung magkano talaga yung pede lang nilang ibigay. I had experience where I said a lower rate than what they can give. So I ended up getting more than what I told them since they have to give the rate according dun sa job position and level that I will be getting.

The best approach is tell the agent what you are currently receiving then from that the agent or HR recruiting you will have an idea on what to offer

some agent or HR are straight forward that they would say the range like 'maximun of' or 'we can only offer you xx amount' then it is up to you how to persuade them that you are worth that

if you are desperate to get a job in AU then you just need to ask politely what their current renumeration or an idea how much is their budget

kung agent ka madali lang ito sabihin kasi they really dont care how much , para sa kanila the bigger the better some of them kasi earns by % on your salary some of them get paid 1 time for a succesfull applicant

    Google for Everything !!!
