Wife (Dependent) at the Time of Visa 189 Application

FuturesFutures MelbournePosts: 140Member
Good afternoon po sa lahat!
First I really wanna thank to this forum... very informative.

I think my topic was already discussed somewhere before but let me start it a new.
It's a bit futuristic kaya Futures ang ginamit kong username.
I have submitted my application for EA assessment and it was queud for assessment last early February. My IELTS band score was all above 7 so i am looking forward to apply for 189.
Right now, my wife is 2 months pregnant (3rd)... it was really not planned pero mas OK din kasi 34 na siya and we can still avail maternity benefits in my present company (CS covered). Mas madali din naman magbaby dito sa Pinas compared when we're new migrants sa AU.

In view of this, i have the following concerns and questions.
1. Is it true that it is already possible to get a newborn's passport two months after birth provided i-hand carry ang registration sa civil registrar? I also read somewhere na yung original birth certificate from hospital ay pwede nang gamitin sa DFA basta meron na sign ng civil registrar.
2. Now we are thinking to proceed our VISA application (hopefully ma-invite) and if medicals will be requested, ipahold na muna namin ang application until makapag-medical na sis misis and meron na passport si future baby..
3. Although I have two first degree cousins in QLD and Perth, we are also thinking na mauna na muna ako if ever magkaVISA para magsettle at susunod sila later. Ano ba minimum age ng baby na OK na i-travel in long flights?
4. Anyone of you went through or encountered the same situation here?
5. Appreciate it so much if you can offer some thoughts…

    Hi @Futures, like you buntis din si misis nung simulan namin yung application. On to your questions:

    1) Not sure ang processing sa pinas pero dito sa dubai where I am based ang sabi sa consulate eh 6 to 8 weeks ang waiting time (after processing) bago mareceive yung passport ni baby.

    2) This is what we 've done. We proceeded with our application, buntis si misis nung maglodge ako then between nung time na maglodge ako to time of CO allocation, nanganak si misis.

    .

    1. Yes, that is true. there is express processing of passport.

    2. if you are not in a hurry to get a visa but just wanted to be 'invited' , you can do that.
    apply for invitation, once invited, lodged your visa application.

    There is a question there 'is applicant pregnant?'

    Pregnant applicants are STILL required to undergo medical exam (including X-Ray), HOWEVER due to risk associated with this, you can DELAY the exam until your baby is born.

    then you can ask the CO to

    -- delay the assessment until your baby is full documented (no additional fee for your baby's application) OR

    -- give your assessment and get visa for your baby on a separate application (fees and charges apply)

    3. there is no age restrictions as per airlines policy but you need to get advice from your doctors (for health and safety reasons). infant upto 2 years old are free to fly (admin fee not included).

    @ImB,
    Thank you very much for your kind and detailed reply.
    In your case, how old na yung baby mo when you traveled?

    @Envy,
    Maraming salamat din!
    Yup i already research na free yung baby sa flight up to 2 years pero pwede rin kung kunan mo siya ng seat.

    I'll post my updates from time to time for others reference in the future.

    @ImB if visa grant na kayo this May, when are you planning to move to AU?
    Sabay na kayo lahat?
    I am thinking of going ahead first if ever para makapagprepare at makakita ng work before magmove-in ang wife and kids ko.
