How to improve my speaking skill?

Nagenroll na po ako sa niners pero minsan lang Ako nagattend kasi mostly puro exam lang naman. I need to have an OBS of 7.0 sa GT exam pero kapag nageexam ako ng mga exercises..6 lang lagi ang nakukuha ko. Tapos wala tlga akong confident sa speaking kasi napagrramble ko mga words pag nagsasalita ako. Parang nawawalan na ako ng pagasa Any tips po kung paano maiimprove yung speaking skill? Do i need to find an exclusive tutor to train me? kasi sayang ang pera pang take kung babagsak lang

actually speaking is also one of my weakness... lalo na yung section 2.. try mo maghanap ng kausap na englisero.. search mo din video ni emma about speaking IELTS..It would help...

In my case, I gave up my ielts.. I have taken PTE instead..

ngayon ko lang nadiscover yung PTE. sana noon ko pa alam.sayang ung binayad ko sa review center hehe pwede namn pala magself review..same lang din naman. yun nalang siguro yung itatake ko baka mas madali kamusta naman po ung result nyo sa pte comparing sa result nyo sa ielts?

Eto po ang tips ko para sa speaking:
1. Read a book then bigkasin niyo po yung binabasa niyo. This really helps a lot lalo na sa pronunciation. After mo maka isang book, madulas na dila mo. hehe
2. Irecord niyo po yung speaking test practice niyo, then pakinggan mo after para macheck mo kung saan yung di maayos.

para sakin.... technically, mas mahirap ang speaking ng PTE.. pero the way they score is so much better compared sa IELTS..plus d ako masyadong kinabahan kasi its computer based,unlike sa IELTS na may mag ininterview..

@catthsy I have quite the same struggle with you. nag basa basa lang ako ng mga articles and read aloud to practice and watch EMMA at youtube



Ituturo nya sau ung mga what to expect and what to do, from posture and answering the questions. she gave tips rin. tapos practice ka lng with someone.

@catthsy another tips sis is always use english as your first language even here in the forum practice it, second never never watch tagalog movies and news during your review days better if you watch cnn, hbo and starmovies so that youll get used to the accent and even correct the pronounciation of each word. goodluck on your exam. What worked for me:


1.) Talk to yourself in English for instance kapag nag-mmuni-muni kayo or planning something, kahit mahinang boses lang, and make sure you correct your mistakes (e.g. wrong grammar or pronunciation) by repeating what you said.

2.) Talk to a Native Speaker, if you work for an American/Aussie company for example, take advantage of the opportunity to have a conversation with your English-speaking colleagues.

3.) Watch a lot of English movies and try to study the dialogues and use it kapag may proper opportunity… also it will improve your use of collocations which makes your manner of speaking natural or “native”... Huwag lang naman masyadong OA, baka mamaya nagtanong kayo presyo ng galunggong sa palengke, mapasabi kayo ng “This is absurd!” o kaya ng “That’s rubbish!” magulat yung tindera :P


Also remember that “Speaking” whether Filipino, English or kahit anong language dapat fluid and natural… hindi yung parang aral na aral that you have to pause for a moment to compose whatever it is that you want to say…

Sakin naman:

1. hanap ka ng makakausap na hindi ka lolokohin at maayos na itatama ang mga mali mo. Yong hindi ka mahihiyang magkamali. Actually, ang malaking kalaban natin sa pagsasalita ng ingles ay yong hiya at nawawalan tayo ng confidence kasi naiisip natin na baka mali ang sabihin natin. Tama yong sabi ng iba, minsan kasi kapag tuloy tuloy ang salita mo at kahit mali ka na tuloy tuloy parin, nagmumukhang tama ang sinasabi mo.

2. Watch youtube videos and tignan mo kung pano sila sumagot. Tapos yong mga materials try mo rin sagutin kasama ang speaking partner mo siya magtatanong tapos ikaw sasagot

3. Wag mahiyang magkamali
