23, seeking help for my future as an accountant :)

DonnajaniceDonnajanice MandaluyongPosts: 14Member
Hi -

I'm 23, and currently an associate auditor in one of the audit firms in the Philippines. Licensed CPA since October 2014. *yay*

My dream is to work in Australia as an accountant or auditor or anything business related, and I have been reading articles trying to fish out information on how to be able to work in Australia as early as my age.

But all I can see is I have to study accounting in Australia, to be able to work the profession. Are there employers sponsoring young accountants?

I consider that as one of the available options out there, but I can't seem to gather all the options.

Can someone help me achieve my dreams? :)

I'm 25 and is now very close to achieving that golden email.. Lol kung di lang sagabal si IELTS..siguro mga 23 palang din, may PR na ako..

My advise is keep researching on the requirements..esp yung mga work experiences. make sure to collate all your docs as well as early as now.

Good luck to you! All the best!

@pink Hi! It's 2018, thank you for your reply years ago. :) I couldn't push thru last 2015 because my dad won't allow me to.

I just looked back on my thread in this website. I'm 25 already, and am planning to study next year, 1st trimester, in Brisbane. Will take up Masters in Professional Accounting. It will run for 2 years.

With this, I would like to ask, if it's easier to get a PR status after I graduate then, even without employer sponsorship?

@Donnajanice depende sa situation mo.. taking up masters in Australia will definitely help for acquiring more points.

In addition, you can apply for 485 visa after you complete the Masters program

if you have not done so, you can check if you are eligible with PR with this form:

@Donnajanice be mindful that the occupation lists change and studying in Australia does not guarantee you'll be eligible for a PR visa by the end of it.

@Donnajanice forgot to add that I got my PR many years ago through a student visa. It worked for me but not for everyone. As a registered migration agent, I do not actually recommend it as it is not the best pathway. Some agents would recommend it because they get commission from universities/educational institutions so there may be a vested interest there and not to your best interest. Be mindful of this.
