Hi i was wondering how students are able to bring their dependents to australia on a different application. Planning to get married this december to my bf who has a student visa then apply for a dependent visa after that. How long is the procedure and what are the requirements? Thanks

Timeframe of process will depend on your readiness re: requirements, docs, funds. Procedure would be more or less similar with the primary visa holder. Just one query: did your bf declare you (not sure then if bf/gf criterion is possible) as his dependent on his initial student visa application?
primary applicant- wife arrived melbourne- July 28, 2010
@abbyo8doibu i asked assistance from idp na kasi un ang agency ni hubby when he applied for student visa din. 10k ang bayad. I alreadt paid for the oshc which costs $1577 aud. Super expensive kasi couple insurance na sya. Kht 1 year lang ang coverage. Tpos mga 20k ung visa applicatiob
I submitted all these documents: Student visa application form 157A Nomination form 919 Nbi clearance Oshc insurance Bank certificate Nso marriage certificate Nso birth certificate of me and my husband Pictures of us together since 2006 (they normally require that especially if you are newly married) Medical exam
I got lucky it only took 2 weeks to get my visa grant. You just have to complete all requirements so they wont need to get additional requirements which can delay ur approval.
Goodluck to all those who are waiting for their visas and also those who are still going to apply.
