https://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/become-a-cpa/international-affiliations/philippine-institute-of-certified-public-accountants

"On 27 November 2015, CPA Australia and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) signed a Member Pathway Agreement (MPA) to further develop the relationship between the two bodies and establish guidelines on how qualified members of PICPA and/or candidates who have passed the local CPA Licensure exams can attain an international designation recognised across the globe through CPA Australia.

Becoming a CPA gives local CPAs in the Philippines and PICPA members the opportunity to promote their technical expertise through an association that is well recognised throughout Australia, Asia and around the globe.

The term of this MPA agreement is valid until the day 26 November 2018 and it will be revisited for possible renewal near the end of the term, and is available to:
•candidates who have completed the licensure exams in Philippines and/or PICPA members who have served the profession for more than 10 years in a senior capacity
• local CPA candidates in Philippines and/or PICPA members regardless of the number of years of experience ."

For those who tried this MPA. Please share your experience and success stories. Para maka kuha kami ng tips.. Maraming salamat.

To be known pa yung sa misis ko; as she is already a CPAA Associate member - she just submitted a letter of request together with a letter of recommendation from her current and previous works that clearly stated that she was in a senior role.

Hopefully makuha niya - although she already passed 5 of the 6 require subject, if she will be approved ma exempt na sya sa last exams and that would be a $1k savings for us... :)

ahahaha - mukhang wala na materials for this; this was taken in 2013 and this was her weak point. Pass lang sya dito... ehehehe!! It was a boring paper as per her description.

Yeah, she is technically a CPAA na but of course the formalities will follow.

@TasBurrfoot misleading daw ang requirements to get an exception for the 3 cpa australia modules. mostly I know ay negative assessment outcome. Kasi sa requirements list "and/or" so may confusion whether both CPA license in Phils plus 10 years experience and 5 years should be in senior managerial role.

So we need a clarification of what have been signed by picpa & cpa australia:

    1. dapat ba ang 5 year senior managerial role requirements applies only to picpa members na hindi CPA licensed sa pinas?

    2. or 10 years experience (walang 5 years senior managerial role) pero CPA licensed sa pinas?

    3. or dapat both CPA licensed sa pinas plus 10 years experience and 5 years in senior managerial role?

Thanks, hope we can get more comments/share their experience on PICPA & CPA Australia MPA.

This is probably a question that should be directed at CPAA...

But my take is that they have a partnership with PICPA hence in order to get exemption, you need to be a PH CPA plus all the other requirements (in which case, managerial/senior role).

Doesn't make sense that that brand it a partnership with PICPA but they are ok to welcome non PH CPAs. diba? :)

    Hope this somehow helps.

@Diana__Jane @shaynetot Here is the thread related to CPAA membership. Being a picpa member does not automatically mean we can be a member of CPAA. we still need to undergo assessment. and associate member lang tayo. we have to do some subjects pa.
