Planning to apply for Australia PR

jecrisoncastillojecrisoncastillo MandaluyongPosts: 5Member
Hi Everyone,

Me and my wife are planning to apply for Australia PR this year. And meron lang ako doubt about sa assessment, we've heard kasi na part ng point system is the work experience and education, ngayon sa case kasi namin we are both engineering grad (BSECE) but our work experience is more on IT Software Engineering (6 years of work exp, nasabi kasi sa amin ng kaibigan ko na baka bawasan yung work exp namin during assessment kasi ang coursr namin is not relavant to IT (which is our current work). Totoo ba ito? meron ba dito na may same case tulad ng sa amin? Ilan yung naaward na points sa inyo?

On the otherhand, we are also considering to hire a migration agent so far ang alam pa lang namin is Migration Global Assistance and Respall? Any reviews on your end? Or meron ba kayo maissuggest sa amin?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Jeck&Lady

    @jericsoncastillo,

Hindi babawasan ang work experience mo:

For ACS: BSECE is considered an ICT major course. Example of minor course: BS Math
Read ACS guidelines. 6 years is sufficient enough to get favourable assessment.

for DIBP: closely related work experience is counted towards your "WORK EXPERIENCE". More likely, you will get 6 years experience if evidence is provided.

    Example:
    Nominated Occupation: Network Engineer
closely related work experience: Database developer

Any ICT job at "professional level" is considered a closely related occupation. Reason: ICT occupations are interconnected with each other. Network engineers do scripting and administers databases. And database developer adapts network topology requirements.
Note: DIBP & ACS are not concerned about your job title: They will go through the specified job duties outlined in your Reference Letter.

    Cheers.

    skilled migrant now Aussie.

@jecrisoncastillo hi, you can read the ACS guidelines from this link regarding the work exp deductions:
    #4 SUITABILITY CRITERIA
#5 SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENT MET DATE
    https://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0020/7319/Skills-Assessment-Guidelines-for-Applicants.pdf

Minimum na bawas ay 2 years for Bachelors degree na ICT major (or 4 or 6 depending on your course and school).
You can also backread here, madami cases like yours na Engg pero got favorable assessment from ACS, you can see it in their timelines as well:
    http://pinoyau.info/discussion/36/australian-computer-society-skills-application

    School sections are here:
    http://pinoyau.info/plugin/page/accredited-schools

Kung malapit na kayo mag 7 years, you can get the 10 points for 5 years work experience. Since you mentioned same kayo ni misis, magpa assess nalang kayo both for the additional 5 points for partner points, malaking tulong din iyon.
