@sheep - Try mo mock booking sa mga different airlines.

If you are okey with mga indirect flights, maybe you can explore connecting via Kuala Lumpur using Air Asia and then take a Cebu Pacific going to manila.

Forget about transiting via Singapore as sobrang daming Pinoys dito na uuwi din and airfares going to Pinas in December are starting at around more than A$500 if you leave a week before Christmas.

I can vouch for Air Asia to be okey as long as you can get a good price - I took this on our way to a very short vacation to Melbourne. The seats were similar to that of Cebu Pacific (think tough leather seats) and it has no entertainment system. But hey, it just cost me around A$270 for a return flight from Singapore so I had no qualm... :D

@sohc - wow, super mura ang pabalik mo sa manila ha! :) normally kasi ang one way would cost around $80. and considering pasko sya, hyper-inflated na mga ticket prices. mind if i ask kelan ang departure date from singapore nun? :)

Head to Darwin and buy tickets to any budget airlines...

Suggestion lang, next time enrol yourself in any airline membership reward programs or get those credit cards with instant mileage. Why not apply a HSBC platinum card, pay the annual roughly around 200-250 ata but you will get 30k mileage in Qantas *ting*** one way bound to Manila. Then from Manila purchase a round trip ticket via Qantas roughly around 450USD++ sale - just go to Qantas office in Makati.

    Benefits:
    1. Cheaper one way Oz-Manila due to awarded mileage of the platinum credit card.
    2. Free insurance coverage due to platinum credit card.
    3. Round trip ticket worth 450++ only so may pabalik ka next year.
    4. Additional mileage as you will buy regular fare sa Manila papuntang Oz.

    Consequences:
    1. 2 weeks application processing.
    2. Credit history and salary check kung papasok - proof of income.
    3. Anxiety dahil kakaantay kung papasa o hindi.

Alternative, head to Darwin buy a Tiger Airways ticket, or tawag ka sa flight centre or bili ka sa mga ticketing office na para sa student.

    Ta. :)
