Let's start a new discussion here friends; to all those who are already working in Australia, I ask this question: Do you buy food sa labas or nagbabaon kayo? If you buy food, how much does this usually cost you?

Dito kasi sa Singapore, food is relatively very cheap as compared to your salary... I think such is not the same in Australia though.

To be practical at mas tipid mag baon ka. Puedeng gumawa ka ng sandwich o kaya magluto ka ng ulam with rice. You can bring also fruits like apple, orange or banana. Australian lagi may dalang fruits part ng meal. May pantry or may kitchen naman in every office. Puede mo i-microwave ang baon mo.

Palagi ako bumibili ng lunch plus bottled water (mt. franklin or pump) it cost from $11 to $15
Pero eto lang month na ito dahil may sasakyan na ako nakakatipid ako umuuwi ako minsan kapag lunch break,10 minutes drive from my office.

11 to 15 per meal? ahahaha... mejo pricey nga, habbang dito sa Singapore, a good meal with drinks can set you back A$5.

15*20 days = A$300; this is already a week's worth of rent more or less. It pays to be practical nga!

Meron din naman mga tipid meals like sa McDo around $6. Ako 1st week ko bumibili ako sa labas. Usually $8, wraps yun na may chicken or beef. Pero after that lagi na ako nagbabaon para tipid.

i buy microwaveable meals..hehehe! kasi too tired to cook na din our break is only 30 mins so can't go out din.. and there's juice in our staff room:D hehehe!

Dito sa melbourne makakabili ka ng food na nasa microwavable tupperware for $6 to 8 busog ka na nun.. mga asian food. rice na may ulam. ganun. pero ako nagbabaon din ko. every friday lang ko bumibili sa labas. Meron sa mcdo dito yung Angus wrap. hehehe. 3$ lang masarap naman. parang half angus burger tapos nakabalot sa shawarma wrap. na may kasamang gulay na dahon at mayo. hehehe.

Microwaved food at A$6 is not bad at all... Pwede na yan! Although if bibila ka ng drink maging killer din ito diba? Eheheheh... Drinks starts at A$1.50 I think.

@LokiJr, budget namin sa pagkain ng utol ko sa pagkain e 300AUD a month. so tig 150AUD kami. nagluluto kasi kami parehas..depende kung sino trip magluto. sya nagluluto mga sosyal na dish, mga italian, french foods ek ek. hehehe. ako yung pang masa.. tulad neto last saturday niluto ko adobong adidas (yum yum!). hehehe. so kumpleto na yun 300AUD,may kasama na fruits diyan at mga groceries, mga delata, canton. baked beans. so mas tipid talaga kung magluluto ka at magbabaon. Melbourne yan ah.. i'm not sure kung sa ibang city or state.

groceries plus pamalengke na yan.. bumibili kami meat, fish at gulay sa asian market (footscray dito sa melbourne) para mas mura.. yung groceries naman (coles or wollies) yup ok na sya for two. busog busog na kami nyan.

We are a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids) and our groceries amount to approx $400~500 forthnightly here in NW Qld. So lumalabas $800~1000 per month ang groceries namin.

I have come to accept the fact already that when I leave Singapore, a decent meal will no longer be this affordable... Kaya I am preparing myself by learning a new ulan every weekend!! ahahaha... )

sa mga sydneysiders... kung alam nyo yung wynyard station...
tawid kayo papuntang hunter connection, 2nd floor vietnamese food sya sa pagkakatanda ko...
hindi ko maalala ang name... punta ulit ako maya... alamin ko yung name...
pero wala pang drinks yun ha...tubig na lang o kaya fresh milk sa office, libre lang naman sa office yun hehehe

tipid to the max lol...

mga 12noon nako napunta dun kasi yung pack lunch ata nila hindi pa available or konti pa lang ang nakadisplay pag maaga pa...

may beef, chicken at pork na choice... marami-rami rin serving nila so sulit na talaga...

300 per tao yun ah. so 600 kami dalawa utol ko. yup kasama na groceries, pamalengke, fruits, gulay, karne dun. pati tubig. hehehe. bumibili pa kasi kami tubig.. maarte utol ko e. hehehe.
