Misconceptions about IELTS

Hello! I'm wondering why people have different views about IELTS. I think it is actually a good measure of your English capacity and more accepted in different institutions. Why do you think people shy away from IELTS and take other type of tests instead?

because of the human bias involved in checking of the exam. also, you are at a disadvantage if your handwriting is not that good so even if your content is excellent but the checker cannot read your handwriting, you will lose significant points.

@kisses1417 has a good point, I think this is partly because of the subjective aspect of the scoring. Oftentimes, instead of judging a written work based on grammar, lexical resource, coherence, etc, they score it based on content. This becomes a problem where you have no clue about the topic. Plus, I think the scoring in PTE is more lenient, but that's just me.
