@chandria hi, first time taker ka ba? I suggest do practice test online muna to gauge your current standing and for you to get the feel of the exam. You can also check video tutorials on Youtube like E2Language to get tips on how to proceed with each subtest.

I just got my scores..

Oral fluency is 47 and Pronunciation is 36 sobrang baba

Hayyy sobrang lungkot.

aiming for superior sana.. yung scores ko sa speaking including oral fluency and pronunciation mas mababa pa kesa sa mock test. To think na mas confident ako sa exam, sa mock test ang dami kong stops and mas nauutal utal kasi kabado.. Nagbabasa basa naman ako dito and sinunod ko naman yung advices niyo, like yung microphone huwag nakatapat mismo sa mouth, yung templates, tsaka dapat moderate pace lang. Saan kaya ako nagkamali? Iniisip ko baka sa pace, baka mabilis, pero moderate na siya for me, baka dapat bagalan pa? Or baka masyado maiksi yung sinasabi ko kasi i stop before the timer ends, para hindi macut yung sinasabi ko in the middle of the sentence.. baka masyado maiksi? Medyo 3/4 of the timer nagsstop and click next na ako eh.

Kakalungkot pero need to keep moving forward.. Will book another sched na. Any advices saan ako pwede magpractice pa? Effective kaya yung speech to text to make sure naiintindihan ng computer yung sinasabi ko?

Yung sa reading, feeling ko sa MCSA or MCMA ako nagkulang.. need pa naman maka 79.

Sorry medyo mahaba.. Dito ko lang kasi mashare yung lungkot ko hehe. thanks sa lahat ng mga nagbibigay ng advices dito..

hi @dyanisabelle! ganyan din yung feeling ko dati nung nakita ko ang speaking ko. naturally mabilis ako magsalita and naalala ko yung sa read aloud mga 27-29 seconds tapos na ako, but not sure if may bearing yung time pero for sure nahirapan siguro intindihan yung sinasabi ko haha. Then feeling ko mahina yung boses ko kasi naririnig ko yung mga katabi ko na magsalita and naconscious ako.

Practice lang talaga sabi nila. Try mo ishadow yung mga sample recordings. Push parin natin makukuha din natin yan.

@shielalables Ako din medyo naconscious at nadistract sa mga katabi pero hindi naman super.. Baka dahil medyo soft spoken din ako.. Haha di ko talaga mapinpoint saan yung mali ko, kasi mas mataas pa yung mock exam na feeling ko mas bad yung performance ko. Kaya iniisip ko baka may major akong maling nagawa sa actual exam kaya sobrang baba.

Magre-retake ka na rin ba? Medyo nakaka move on na ako ngayon at ready na ulit mag aral hehe. Ano preparation mo now?

@dyanisabelle yup retake ako sa monday. Ang ginawa is ko aral ulit ng tips sa speaking, pano yung tamang phrasing at pacing, rewatch ng video tutorials then shadow ng mga sample recordings. Balak ko magtake ng mock test B ko mamayang gabi.

Try to do mock test record mu sis ang speaking part mu para after you can review. Suggestion lang po. Mejo mababa din ako sis sa speaking figuring out for answers . Mgmock test uli ako before magbuk uli ng exam.

@dyanisabelle sorry to hear that but you're right, keep moving forward and don't give up. try this website. https://dictation.io
it will type into words yung sinasabi mo. if ibang word nattype ng computer while you speak, it means you have to improve your pronunciation. check merriam webster for proper pronunciations including stress ng word. click mo yun read out loud (speaker icon).

sa timing naman on when to stop, you stop only when the timer is 35 seconds or higher. I had one image and repeat lecture na inabot aka timer but I still got a high mark. Try opening you mouth and jaw when speaking para was natural.

@lack14 Thank you for the tips! Siguro nga hindi ako masyado conscious sa way ng pagsasalita ko kasi mas nagfocus ako sa masasabi kong details, like kung paano ko sila mare-relate, etc. Siguro yung gameplan ko ngayon is more on memorizing templates and how to ensure I'm pronouncing these clearly. Tapos shoot shoot na lang ng details.

Mag practice din ako sa timing para mas ma-maximize ko yung time. Thank you again!

@shielalables yes first time taker ako.. i planned to take sana this last week of september or if hindi kaya first week of october.. nag try na ako manood ng utube and tried to answer some free mock questions.. medyo mahirap talaga xa.. 65 ung kailangan ko.. hopefully maabot ko yan in a small span of time..

@dyanisabelle, IMHO content is just a part of scoring sa speaking so need tlga to have an unbeating template sa speaking para tumaas yung sa OF, npansin ko ksi sa mock ko nanghuhula na ako ng content pero since may template pa rin ako na gamit, mataas pa rin yung OF ko yun nga lng sa pronunciation ako lumagapak kaya ang baba ng score ko sa speaking plus di ko maulit yung mga repeat sentences.

@lizzzie hello po..sa Results po ng Home page. Click nyo po yan at andoon ang mga results including from the Practice test..Pero may notice pala ng outage last Sep 5 baka nga yon ang dahilan kung bakit hindi mo maview ang result mo..

@dyanisabelle OF kaya mo yan with templates and practice. Pronunciation yes try mo yung speech to text na softwares, I encouraged hubby din before to try it, kahit Siri lang sa iPhone. Kasi computer yung mag score sayo so dapat angkap sa pandinig ng computer. Record yourself din, or practice in front of someone na magaling sa pronunciation para ma-correct ka; minsan kasi hindi tayo magaling mag judge ng sarili natin talaga, so better to have a discerning opinion. Hanap ka ng bff na hindi mahihiya sayo mag correct. ;-)

@chandria yup sa e2 language may ok na templates but madami din dito just backread lang

may mga ibang words ata ako na nasabi, I wrote the first letters kc of each words sa repeat sentence to remember most of them, it worked for me.

@cheesyfiona thank you po. In the case of your hubby, nakukuha naman ba accurately ni sir yung sinasabi niya? Minsan kasi may mga mali akong words, tapos kapag sinasabi ko ulit tama naman. Ang hirap. Hehe.

@Supersaiyan I checked your signature, nakapag take ka na po ba ng actual exam? Tinatry ko din gumamit ng speech to text, may mga words nga na mali yung recognize ng computer, pero kapag inuulit ko okay naman. Iniisip ko tuloy baka kailangan ko i-emphasize bawat word, kaso baka maapektuhan ang OF dahil maging "robot like" na yung pagsalita ko..

@dyanisabelle Actually kaya kami nagtry ng text-to-speech kasi naiinis na si hubby sakin pag kino-correct ko sya or if I say na he needs to enunciate pa yung words (medyo kinakain nya kasi yung vowels) So when we used Siri saka something online, tas hindi maintindihan ng computer yung words nya (ex: "bar graph" nagiging "paragraph") medyo dun lang sya naniwala sakin. Hehehe Also check mo sa Merriam Webster yung pronunciation ng words if unsure ka.
