@abby_bm, not really sure kung pano exact computation and breakdown as it depends on the family's income. I know friends though who get roughly AUD600 per month per child.

    Better check Centrelink's website.

@ImB, thanks again. 10yrs na kami sa dubai. Ang hirap magdecide if worth it or not to move. Me magandang work and no tax dito sa dubai. Nakakaipon and stable kumbaga. Every week nasa legoland, dubai mall or Mirdif city center. Haay hirap magdecide...any tips po and advice na din? Thanks po.

@abby_bm, a lot have been said in this thread already between Dubai and Australia backread ka lang.

As a former Dubai resident, my question is do you see your family living in Dubai long-term?

Should you decide to move here sa OZ ang tip ko lang is don't expect too much at first. Maganda ang Dubai, but it's all about long-term.

@ImB, thanks. Tama pang long term.

And by 2018 need na mag permanent stay dyan. Else, mag eexpire na. Tama ka walang permanent dito. Biglang nagbabago batas in one day lang. Kaya nagre ready na kami. Me tax na pala dito by 2018.

extension by request is not possible and RRV is only possible if you are already residing in the country...

You can't convert it. You need to pass driving exams (Theory, Hazard and Practical).

Magagamit mo yung UAE license for 6 mths, after that you need to have AU driving license.

    Pwede naman.

I wouldn't do it though. For the 6 months cost of rent, makakabili ka na ng decent second hand car.

@Diana__Jane, di pa ko nagagawi sa Sydney eh so no idea about groceries, eat-out, etc tbut I assume it will be similar to Melbourne or diff may be negligible.

Big difference though e sa cost of rent and properties. I know people, who went to Sydney but had to moved to Melbourne, while some thinking of moving to other states, coz of the unaffordable house prices in Sydney. Personally, this is one of the deciding factor why we did not chose Sydney.

@cookieblend Everything is different. I was born and raised in the UAE. Dun na ko nagaral, nagtapos, nakapangasawa and nagtrabaho din for 8 years. We've stayed there for over 30 years. It's actually both sad and satisfying to leave the country. Kahit na 8 years ako dun sa previous work ko sa AUH, I worry about job security a lot. Sa UAE pati, wala ka mapapala when it comes to long term. Money is good oo, pero not for everyone especially ngayon na naghihigpitan sila. At least dito, you secure your family by working.

They also value family life and time.

Anyway, there are so many factors one can talk about and compare with what the differences are. I guess the bottom line lang is what are you really looking at in the future. Iba iba ang gusto ng mga tao, some would like to migrate permanently, some would just like to work and go back home, some would like to raise their children sa Pinas, some don't.

@abby_bm hi. Tulad dito sa UAE need magpabalik balik after 6months. Thanks sa reply.

Hello everyone! My fiance and I are also in the process of applying sa Au. Im an accountant, tapos sya, walang specialization (we're both in Dubai). Like, graduate ng B.S. ComSci pero sa real estate as back office nagwowork. He's worried na baka wala syang mahanap daw sa Au, especially since okay na sweldo nya dito. Baka daw may mahanap man sya, mababa naman ang sweldo (minus tax and superannuation pa). Ano po bang masasabi nyo para maconvince ko sya or magkaron sya ng peace of mind about sa paglipat namin? May chance kaya sya sa dyan sa Au? Kasi pati ako honestly napapaisip na din.. Thanks in advance!

@abby_bm Hi abby.... answer ko yung question mo huh. :)
we got our aust PR ng 2009, we moved to Aust 6 months before mag-5th year.
If you check your visa, visa is actually "indefinite", ang nag-e-expire ay yung travel permission mo. So, in our case, dahil late na kami nag settle ng Aust, after nung 5th year after visa grant, we had to get RRV (resident return visa) bago kami lumabas ng Aust for vacation.

You can stay in Aust even with expired PR visa, pero wag ka lang lalabas ng wala kang bitbit na RRV.

But no, I don't think pwede ka mag request ng extension. Fair naman di ba? They have given you almost 5 years to think about it. ;) It will be worth it, dear. :)

Btw, may advantages and disadvantages ang pinapatagal ang pag-settle. :)

You are paid here by the hour... so in general, susulitin nila ang pinapa-sweldo sayo.
Though yung una kong work, nakakapag-kwentuhan kami the whole day... which i hate by the way. So, I opted to change job where i'm on my toes every minute.

So, depende kung anong working attitude mo rin.

Same lang naman in terms of employers, i think. As long as you can contribute, you're IN.

@zacc Hi zacc, basta nakapag-initial entry ka na, hindi naman requirement na magpabalik-balik ka ng aust before you settle. Basta lang mag settle ka, before yung deadline nila na "must not arrive after [date]" date.

Delaying the date of the big move

    Pros:
    1. Makakaipon ka pa ng pambaon. :)

    2. If you decide to go out of Australia after your deadline to settle, mag-a-apply ka ng RRV. Eh di no choice ka but to get RRV ... In applying for RRV, kapag less than 2years ka palang dito sa Aust, 1 year validity lang ang ibibigay sa iyong RRV. Meaning, should you decide to go out again bago ka mag-2 years dito, apply at bayad ulet ng RRV. This happened to us, kaya I know how expensive it can be.

@elec_popon hello! meron akong friend na couple where ME ung husband and nurse din ung asawa. mas mabuti ikw mag principal pra dependent mo nlng sia..once ur both here and since she is a perm resident, its easier for her to start her career her as nurse. since ma gastos ang bridging course nila around 13k aud (and may balita na indi na 3months ngaun, mgging 6months na), for sure it will be more costly.

I'm planning kc may BM this year, at kinakabahan ako if may mahahanap kaya akong work especially in Brisbane kaya iniisip ko if may recuitment agencies ba dyn na cla mag hahanap sau ng work then mag bayad na lng sa knila pra sure na mag kaka-trabaho. Salamat.
