    @johnandjosh...pwede parin nating ituloy ang Pag-IBIG Contributions natin kahit nasa Aus na tayo. Pero dahil walang overseas post ang Pag-IBIG sa Australia :( makikisuyo tayo sa relative natin ng pagbabayad nyan...we have 2 options, either ituloy natin yong local membership natin as SElf employed o mag pa member tayo as overseas member. Separate account kc yon as of now.

    With regards to your verification online, sadly, hindi pa available yan as of now...:(

    Unlike SSS kc ang Pag-IBIG ay ngayon pa lang nag sstart maging centralize ang records as in work in progress pa, kaya kung nag work ka dito sa Philippines sa iba't ibang locations, nakakalat din ang membership mo.. kelangan mo irequest yon ng consolidation sa pinaka current mong employment.

    Kaya, kung sa tingin nyo, marami kayong pinanggaling company, i request nyo na ng consolidation ngayon pa lang.

    Guys just want to share:

    Had an officemate who migrated in Canada last apr. His wife is working in GSIS. They both withrawed their contribution. I asked him what will be my option if I wanted to just keep my contri and be a pensioner someday.

    If less than 15 years ang gov't service mo and you rendered services in private company/ies and all of these services totaled 15 years or more, qualified ka for Portability Law which will consider you as a pensioner at the age of 60. But you need to file this one. They will consider your SSS contribution as part of your government service.

    For me, I guess mas ok ang suggestion ni @Littleboyblue. Dagdag investment na lng with equity fund or blue chip stocks.

    @johnandjosh ...hindi po, new membership bale kung magpapamember ka sa PIOG (Pag-IBIG International Operation Group). Yong local membership mo kung hindi mo kukunin e magiging Inactive lang ang status pero it will continue to earn dividends parin.

    @skyline yep that's my plan...why take out pre-tax money when you can let it grow on its own...pag tanda mo doble pa pension mo...if you don't want the Philippine pension you can always redirect the funds back to your loved ones in the Philippines :)

    @LittleBoyBlue, puwede ka naman maghulog uli anytime...yung disadvantage lang talaga ng pagkuha ng pera kaagad e mawawala yung tax effectiveness ng naipon mo sa Pag-ibig..ika nga don't kill the goose that lays the eggs hehe

    @rbolante yeah makes perfect sense naman yung punto mo hehe...ako kasi balak ko gamitin yung pag-ibig benefits para bumili ng lupa sa Pinas (in the future) Kung mapapansin mo sa Australia, a lot of them Aussies are into property investing at para satin sa Pinas, Pag-ibig na yung pinaka convenient na paraan hehe
    pano ba yung tax effectiveness na yun? hindi ako familiar dun eh. Ang line of thought ko lang ngayon eh I can make that money grow sa investment sa PH through index funds or blue chips na stocks, unlike yung pera ko nasa kanila na gobyerno nakikinabang. Ni-statement kung magkano na pera natin dun wala eh dba? Di katulad ng sa SSS, at least nakikita mo magkano na-contribution mo.
    Check mo payslip mo...bago makaltas ng tax yung suweldo, bawas na yung SSS, Pag-ibig at Philhealth....pag winithdraw mo siya pre-maturely, magbabayad ka tax....kung naisipan mo sa hinaharap na gusto mo uli magcontribute (at nasa Australia ka na)...perang nakaltasan na ng tax yung ipangg-gagamit mo....dun nawala yung tax incentive.

    It's not much right now pero kung pinalago mo yan ng taon...lalaki at lalaki yun :)

    Hehe ako yun talaga plano ko...iwanan ko lang sila sa Pinas...in fact, balak ko nga magcontribute pa rin kahit nakalipad na ako...think of it as your second (not so efficient) superannuation account :P Just ask someone to check your balance every now and then para sigurado ka ring walang gumagalaw ng account mo hehe.

    Saka may dalang peace of mind na rin na, kung may mangyaring masama (knock on wood) sa mga mahal mo sa buhay sa Pinas at kailangan nila ng pera, alam mong may pagkukunan sila pag emergency hehe. Pag nasa bangko kasi lahat at medyo hindi responsable sa pera yung kapamilya mo, naku po...hehehe

    sa totoo lng, medyo napapa-2 isip ako kung babawiin ko contri ko. kasi 2 na ung offismate kong nagmigrate abroad. ang mga misis nila both working sa gsis at lahat sila kinuha ang contribution nila..hehe

    @nylram_1981 , madalas usap usapan nga yan sa office, may isang employee kasi na di nakapagloan kasi may gumamit ng account nya. Napaloan tuloy ako sa SSS, hehehe. For me keep ko yung SSS pwde naman mag self employed and there is a way to check it online but with Pag ibig parang hirap magtiwala.

    I got good news! :D

    Just got back from Pag-Ibig Makati today for the 2nd time and i brought along the printout of the 176 provisions from the DIAC website and they finally agreed to let me file the said claim. :)

    So for those who are also interested to avail of this benefit you won't be encountering the same issue I had with them. Just bring the printout from DIAC as part of your supporting documents.

    As for me, if I'll have sufficient fund, hindi ko kukunin yong Pag-IBIG contributions ko...
    Maliit lang kc talga interest rate ng housing loan ng pag-IBIG at baka magamit ko sya in the future.

    @Alona Thanks again Ma'am.. By the way, will your Pag-Ibig membership be forfeited by the time the AUS citizenship is acquired? For me it's logically yes unless talaga dual citizenship ang balak in the future.

    And actually that's the reason why I want to withdraw my contributions. My long-term plan is to acquire AUS citizenship.

    parang hindi. kasi kung magkano yung nasa payslip ko na binabawas sa PAGIBIG, yung total nun ganun din nakuha ko na buo. plus maliit na dividend.

    Thanks, @Alona. For me, I want to maintain my PAG_IBIG account at gusto ko nga rin sana maging member ng PIOG. Ang problema wala dito sa NW Qld na remittance centre. Is there a way na makakapag remit ako other than magpabayad ako sa Kamag-anak Incorporated?

    @LokiJr , at some point i would agree about the long term. Ang hindi ko gusto ay yung option to continue it, kelangan pang magpamember ulit thru Pag-IBIG International Operation Group tapos inactive yung isa. Di naman pwede ata na i convert na lang agad to PIOG. Ang pinakakaiiwasan ko yung maging inactive yung account, tapos mag eexpect ako na may babalikan tapos nagamit ng kung sino. Yung SSS since pwede ko i check online at may option na mag self employed kaya continue ko sya at no choice rin naman kasi di naman makukuha .Sorry at pasintabi po sa mga kasama nating govt employees, pagdating sa gobyerno, mahirap na magtiwala.

    Iisa ang iniisip natin @issa. Gusto ko magpamember dun sa PIOG at kung pwede sana yung local membership ko e i-forward or i transfer ko dun sa PIOG ko, kaso di yata pwede yun sabi ni @Alona. Meron din ako SSS at nabayaran ko pa ito before kami mag migrate nung 2010, gusto ko rin sana ipa activate.

    @issa hehe inefficient pa rin yung Pag-ibig...pero di tatagal aayusin din nila yun hehe
    @LittleBoyBlue mas lenient ang payment scheme sa pag-ibig...30 yr ammortization tapos may mga pabahay na exclusive sa pag-ibig pa :)

    @rbolante...Pag-IBIG membership will not be forfeited even you become a citizen of other country, in fact there are expats here who opted to become a member. Thou they usually register when they want to buy a condo unit.

    But you are right, it all depends on your future plans..i have friends in Melbourne who at first maintain their membership with the funds but now they want to withdraw it because they prefer to invest property in australia na. :)
