    Found this topic to be a good therapy sa mga pinag dadaanan namin ngayon. I was a Senior Developer. Before going here I was promised a job by my recent employer. Everything was going smooth. They advertised the job, I applied for it, then they closed the posting. Sumabit lang pag offer. Unfortunately, wala daw na approve na high-cost billing for this quarter. They told me they would try again next quarter-end which is June.

    So for now, I'm exploring other opportunities. Even those that are not IT related. So far, discouraging ang mga feedback. Pero tama tiyaga lang talaga and don't loose hope. Darating dina ng tamang opportunity.

    Around 3 months before kami nakahanap ng work. Based from our experiences dapat meron different version ng CV. For example if System Engineer ka sa pinas and nag-apply ka dito ng junior system engineer or level 1 tech support position dapat i-dumb down mo CV mo otherwise ma-reject application mo ng recruiter kasi over qualified ka.

    about 1 month dn inabot......pero mahirap tlaga pag walang local experience :)...ung 1st job ko medyo ndi ko pa linya but pinatos ko na dn kc halos paubos na ung budget ko, nag work ako dun ng mga 2 months until makalipat ako sa work n tlagang linya ko. Almost 2 years na dn ako sa job ko and I'm so happy with the company, work environment, co workers at mababait cla specially ung mga ka grupo ko but yun nga lang ako lang mag 1 na pilipino sa office nmin

    @faa317 it would help pero not as much as local experience. Double edge sword diba.. How can one gain local experienceif they dont hire u and vice versa. Oh well.. Hard work and prayers lng yan.

    @faa317 May nabasa ako somewhere straight from a recruiter na kapag nakita ng nila na may "visa" status (student, temporary, etc.) sa application form dini-ditch na nila in favor of citizens and PRs. Unless sobrang sakto talaga ng skill set I don't think visa statuses would be a problem. I spoke to colleagues who have been out of work for months and they are Aussies.

    I think depende kung gano ka in-demand yung field mo + same industry, mas may chance na ma hire ka khit wala kang local experience, they will greatly consider your experience abroad..sa case ko dumating kmi d2 sa canberra 1st week of dec 2011, got an interview 4 days after, got an offer afterwards, syempre in-accept ko na agad baka magbago pa isip..ehehe..same company pa rin ako until now..

    @akino..i agree with u..kasi aq after a week nkahanap din ng wrk d2.. wla din aqng local experience den ung experience q jan sa pinas ay 6 months lg.. but still nkahnap aq ng company with a good pay and good benefit and naesponsoran pa aq ng permanent visa.. at dat tym ksi when I apply, position is vacant 4 almost 3months na..kaya ayun ntnggap aq agad which is sobrang swrte q..

    I had an interview earlier with an US firm that has an operation here in Melbourne...

    Mukhang ok naman ang kalalabasan ng pag-uusap namin as 10 minutes after I departed from their building, the HR Officer called and asked me to undergo background check and has asked me for reference. Let's see how this goes from here! :)

    The role is a 6 months contract and it on 25hr/wk...
