Sabi nga sa linkedin discussions na nababasa ko, the best time to migrate is NOW. hehehe basically, as soon as possible. Kase paunahan tlga makakuha ng opportunities dito eh.. hehehehe Yun nga lang tlgang may risks din, so be as prepared as possible in all aspects (physically, mentally, emotionally, financially and spiritually) :-) Madami kaseng adjustments din, hindi lang sa work.

thanks sa mga responses guys.. i agree with you all na BEST would be ASAP to move because the earlier the better.. but for the sake of this discussion, let's try to be objective.. set aside yung mga other factors... say in my situation.. i told my friend that we are planning to move by June and he said that agahan daw namin before June kasi winter na daw ang June, baka mabigla daw kami since galing ng tropical weather..

If you were given a chance to choose which month all year round setting aside job opportunity, what month would you choose and why?

we moved april because we chose to spend 3 months back home in the the phils with our family; of course kasama na rin side trips here and there in between january to march...

was it a good time? yeah i would think so... it was autumn so paunti unti ang adjustment ng katawan namin towards winter. jobwise, parang okey naman as we were able to start working within 2 months from initial entry.

with respect to job though, i would say swertihan talaga ito. do your part to make your CV noticeable and leave it to faith and prayers...

what's best for one might not be best for the others...
it really depends on several factors...

    c) job hunting - affected by financial cycle, season or holidays... although sabi nila konti ang hiring towards the end of the year dahil maraming holidays... marami namang part-time/casual positions na pwede iconsider sa service/retail/hospitality industries...

    d) for me, my main consideration was my Visa Expiration, i moved immediately para bago mag-end ang visa validity, eh masatisfy ko na ang citizenship requirements..

i moved July.. at nagkasakit ako ng 2weeks dahil sobrang lamig.. kahit na sabihin ko na sanay ako sa winter.. .. eh summer kasi ang July sa pinanggalingan ko.. so yung biglang palit ng weather iba talaga... my main consideration was my Visa

    bow!

Kami naman April last week nagmove dito. Autumn yun pa-winter. Actually sumunod family ko mga first week of June. Our only consideration: land before the Initial Entry Date and of course baon. hehehe Yun lang tlga eh. Otherwise we can move in anytime naman kase nga hinahabol din namin magkatrabaho agad. Before entering Au, we were trying to apply for several jobs, I got one phone interview pero overqualified daw ako. Tska hindi tlga nila preferred hiring offshore (although pag sobrang rare/niche skill, kinukuha yan minsan)..

Guys, kung November ba sa tingin nyo ok lang? May makuha kaya akong trabaho before December holidays?

We talked with a recruiter here who eventually became a friendly acquaintance. Based on his suggestion and observation of the annual trend of hiring ng mga companies, the best time to look for a job in Sydney, at least, is between End of May to early July. Fiscal year is wrapping up during these times so may panibagong budget ang mga companies, more opportunities for employment. Worst daw is during the summer or those months close to December na until early January. Other months, steady lang. Pero yan daw ang mga peak and lowest times of the year for hiring.

    Helo po,

Pahingi naman ng advice. Me and hubby are both external auditors, kakagrant lang ng Visa naman (Yey!!). Our last day of work in SG is on July. We plan na magpahinga muna sa Pinas. Based on advice by my previous colleagues, sabi nila ang hiring season daw for our profession is on March -May (year-end) at October - Dec (interim). So ang dilemma namin ay whether punta na ng AU sa October at hindi na magwork sa Pinas or work muna sa Pinas then move na lang on March 2015. For sure kasi mas madami hiring for year-end, however, iniisip namin, baka matambay lang kami sa Pinas and pag magkawork, mawawala na yung mas mataas na "last drawn salary" namin sa SG..

    Pahingi naman po advice.. TIA!

almost same tayo ng plan^ although kami Dec 27/28 ang napupusuan, parang gusto ko dito na muna sa pinas mag christmas..and then New Year sa Sydney. dagdag drama effect..new year, new city..new lives hahaha

ang worry ko lang is hindi ba masyado risky on our part since deadline ng IED namin is January 8, 2016? kung agahan naman namin ng November, baka magaya sa kakilala ko na inabutan ng holiday break kaya wala daw masyado job postings. eventually, nag start sya work march.

We can't leave earlier kase hinihintay ko din yun bonus pag Nov sa current company kase malaki din yun maitutulong nun sa pocket money namin. :D

Tingin ko wala naman problema basta before your IED requirement, nakapasok na kayo ng Oz.

Yup maganda yung New Year sa Sydney, yun nga lang if magh-hotel muna kayo, medyo mahal ang accommodation or kaubusan ng rooms kaya need to reserve ahead.

Ako naman, I need to activate my NAB account before January 7, 2016 kaya mga January 3 siguro ako tutulak papuntang Australia hehe
