Kumusta po? Newbie po ako dito and I was able to read your post about nurses. I am an RN from the Philippines with experience and recently moved here in Australia permanently. I wish to be an RN here kaya lang I am so confuse of the APHRA website. What should I do first? Thank you very much. Hope you will reply.
Hi, the only way that you can register here as a nurse is to study. Since may experience ka sa Phils, pwede kang magbridging course. Take ka na muna ng English exam. While waiting for the results, gather your documents. Then kapag okay na yung result mo, fill up the Agos Form 40. Then send that together with all the documents to AHPRA by Post. Ahpra will send a Letter Of Eligibility to you and then you can enroll for Bridging Course. After finishing the course, that’s when you can register here in Au.
Hello po goodmorning..
im currently working here in saudi as an Er nurse. Want ko po apply in Aus.
She is working as a nurse manager. Finorward niya po CV ko sa hospital nila hoping that I can get sponsorship. Sinabi niya din sakin na baka qualified daw ako sa international overseas nurse since im here in abu dhabi po since 2014. I am new sa forum po. I read all the comments here. You are helping a lot of our kababayans. Hoping to be enlightened po thanks po God bless!
Hi, Congrats! I don’t think they will sponsor you kapag hindi ka RN dito sa Au. Tsaka hindi ka pwedeng magpractice dito without getting a license here.
Once you finish the BP, that’s the only time that you can register here in Au.
This is done once you gain your registration here in Au.
Okay lang kung 2014 pa as long as it stays true to what it says or claims. Don’t forget to have all your documents notarized and in an A4 as well. Yes, you have to have a valid PRC license. You’ll be needing it after your BP course.
Photocopy your docs in A4 size and at the same time have it notarized by an Atty. Documents are to be sent to AHPRA through Post so no need to scan. Hindi rin kailangan na original copies yung isesend not unless nakastate that they want original copies. All the best, hope you’ll be able to renew your license. Have your docs ready like your reference letter which by the way has a certain format to follow, COE which needs to have specific details as well. God bless.
duration is only 3 months. If you can't find an employer to sponsor you, you'll have to go back to the Philippines.--->>> after BP po ilang months pede ka po mag stay sa AU while looking for a Nsg Job? and yung reference letter po ba for ANMAC po right? skills assessment...tumawag po salin Aecc Global sa Pinas qualified namn po daw ako to take BP ok rin naman fee nila to help me registration...thanks po ulit mam cassey
Hi maam..took the ielts po nung dec 2016.. ma eexpire xa ds dec 2018.. valid po ba to for bp?may nabasa kasi akong post dito sa forum na more than 12 months na dw ielts result niya, kaya dw di siya makaka apply for bp
1. As far as I can remember, lahat ng documents ng hubby ko sa kanya lahat galing at walang nanggaling sa Uni.
2. Yung English result ikaw na ang magsesend
3. Yung requiments thru courier mo siya ipapadala paper based siya, i suggest to use yung may tracking number for security purposes
4. Pwede yung to follow, pwede na mauna papers mo.
I’ll try to contact them tomorrow or sa Wednesday. Busy kasi kami ngayon sa work.
The Statement of Service is required to:
• be on the employer’s letterhead
• provide dates of employment
• describe the role in which you were employed, and whether
if was full-time/part-time hours, and
• be signed by a manager (e.g. director of nursing, unit manager or HR manager).
Kailan mo ba makukuha yung new COE mo?
Ok po maam cassey.. another question po maam cassey, dapat updated po ba board cert, board rating or pwd ung kahit 2 years ago?
Hello Cassey! I have just started applying for the July intake for the conversion course at Deakin. I graduated last March and have no hospital experience. Would that put my application at risk of being denied?
I have inly consulted with AECC global and they said that i am eligible. But is there a way i could check with Deakin without lodging an application? Or do i have to apply in order to find out? Btw thank you so much for the quick response!
AECC is reliable. They were our agency (AECC in Melb) when my hubby took a Conversion course in Deakin as well. Yes, it’s the same thing, some Uni have the conversion course for 2yrs which is more costly. Why would you opt to have it longer though when you can finish it for a year?
AECC said since i don’t have any experience i might have to do 2 years but i still have to wait for deakins response once i send my application. If you dont mind my asking, how much did you have to pay for each trimester?
Oh Yeah, you might need to do 2yrs because you don’t have an experience. Usually, those who do 1yr have a work experience. I can only remember the fee for a year which is more or less $27k..that is without the DUELI.
Hi Cassey! Please help me po, I need some inputs from you sana.
Basically, you will need to present a license from the countriy/countries where you have practiced for those 7yrs, you will have to get COGS from those country/countries, you will need to get reference letters from all those experiences (there’s a format for this by the way) and COE as well. It doesn’t matter kung hindi University. Kahit na College, narerecognise pa rin naman so don’t worry about it that much. :)
Hi Cassey. I just would like to ask po. Nagwork ako sa homecare (UAE) for 4yrs as a healthcare technician since indi naman po ako licensed nurse sa UAE. After ng contract ko, this year lang din, umuwi na ko dito pinas and currently working as a volunteer nurse. I have tried asking from my previous employer in UAE a detailed COE with job responsibilities, unfortunately, ayaw po nila magbigay kasi nakapagbigay na daw sila ng COE. Only the dates of employment and designation were written in the COE. Pwde po kaya i-attach ko nalang contract ko to supplement the lack of details? You might have any idea po. Thank you po.
Hi, Unfortunately I don’t think your experience in UAE will count since hindi ka naman nagpractice run as a Registered Nurse. So hindi na kailangan ng COE with job details. Marerecognize lang siya and maggaamit mo siya to claim points kung yung role is as an RN.
Hi cassey! How are? I have a question regarding applying to study in australia. I only have 2yrs exp as critical care nurse here in phil. And ive heard na if I take agedcare course it will add up as an experience? Is that true? Im currently on the process na for agedcare course. Iniisip ko ksi if mag wait pako to work ng another year here sa phil para pasok nako sa 3yrs for bridging mejo matagal. So i planned to take aged care and that is for 1 year and half if im not mistaken para habang gaining exp atleast masa aus nako and its easier for me to apply na din for aphra for my bridging kasi sabi nila priority din daw nila pag andun kana. Then after that mag bridging nako. If ever ba na ganun ung gagawin ko after ko mag bridging kahit may cert ako for aged care uuwi parin ako phil to wait sa registration ko as rn? Do you think ok yung way na itake ko? My school app for tafe is now on the process na. Thank you!
Hi, unfortunately walang bearing yung Aged Care since iba siya sa RN role. So hindi totoo yung narinig mo.
Bridging Course only takes 3months at the moment, there are rumors na gagawin na siyang 6mos next year... Hindi mo kailangan ng 3yrs para makapagBP. 3mos of experience within the last 5yrs will do, so eligible ka na. Yung 3yrs experience is needed kung gusto mong kumuha ng 5points for the PR application.
After magbridging o kahit anong course pa uuwi at uuwi talaga kapag expire na ang Visa not unless na magapply ka uli ng student visa para iextend mo stay mo that is depending on the conditions of the Visa you’re currently holding.
It’s better to take BP kasi diretso RN registration na siya after mo matapos ng BP.
Hindi naman, marami namang work for nurses. Ang tinutukoy nila siguro is work sponsorship.
Wala siyang pathway to PR. NagAgedCare din ang hubby ko before, dahil nga sa walang pathway to residency nagshift siya ng Nursing conversion course.
Bago ka makapagapply, kailangan mo munang maging RN dito which can only be done if you study Nursing here. After that, kailangan ng ANMAC assessment. Kapag nakakuha ka ng positive result, apply ka sa Skill select (you need to at least have 60 points), wait to be invited to apply for PR. Kapag nakakuha ka na ng invitation, then that’s the time na makakapagapply ka for PR.
With regards to points, check the points calculator on the top of this page just to get an estimate kung maaabot mo yung 60 or not.
Maam cassey, tanong po aq ulit.. nabasa q kasi yung post mo regarding sa ahpra registration, wla pong nabanggit na ched...nag mention po kasi yung frend about nagpunta xa nag ched, unfortunately po, itong kakilala q, di po detailed magbigay ng info so im looking for answers from another applicants po.. i badly need help po, Need to pass na my registration kasi ma eexpire na po ielts q ds dec 2018
Walang pinass hubby ko na documents from CHED. Lahat ng documents niya from Uni lang. Just make sure na yung ipapass mo na documents ay nasa A4. Tapos lahat nakanotarized by an Atty. Are you planning to do bridging course?
Maam, sabi kasi ng agent ko noon, need ng mga trainings and certificates.. d q rin alam ano ibig sabihin nya.. hindi na aq pwd magtanong sa kanya kasi, nag AECC na aq pra free.. im assuming po, yung mga trainings, Basic life support or IV therapy training? Wla po kasi nyan.. will it affect my eligibility f wla po akonh trainings?
When it comes to the quality of education, okay talaga ang Deakin. Yes, nambabagsak sila. Focus lang sa aral and huwag itake for granted. You’ll be fine.
Hi po! Ask ko lang po baka po may idea ka how to help my friend. She is a community health nurse for 6 years in the PH and wanted to be a nurse in Australia. Pede po ba sya mag BP? or she's under the conversion course na po? She has no hospital experience po.
Oo, pwede naman as long as yung position niya sa job is as a Nurse. Then tsaka na magworry about other things because definitely there will always be a job.
Hi, Congrats! I called ANMAC before and sabi nila dapat may reference letter. You can try to call them up or email them kung pwede na walang reference letter para di masayang pambayad mo and see how you go. Medyo matagal nga ang invitation sa RN ngayon unlike before.
Ah ganun po ba, sabagay mas masasagot nila agad pag tinawagan hehe.. Hmm, sa ngayon kasi 55 points lang ako and pag mag english test matatagalan bago maka EOI kaya naisip ko what if i-try ko i-add nalang yun hehe.
Thanks po sa reply! :) Tawag ako sa anmac tomorrow.
Hi, it depends on what role or what ANZSCO code you are applying. Claiming points would all depend on your ANMAC LOD. If it's recognized by ANMAC, then you can claim points but if not then you can't because over claiming will definitely lead to a refusal.
Hi, Nagstart si hubby ng Aged Care Cert 3 to 4, show money namin is around 3M. Kasama na niya ako on a dependent visa since start pa lang. Hindi na niya tinapos yung Cert 4 kasi there's no pathway to PR, nagshift siya into Bachelor's course for a year lang since RN siya sa atin sa Pinas then PR na.
Hi Cassey and zeus09, is it true na kapag streamlined uni ang inapplyan hindi always required ang show money? Thank you!
Yes, you can shift. It's easy as long as you have proper and complete documents plus finances. You have to be careful though because some institutions would ask you to pay for the whole tuition fee even if you are not finishing the course. There are educational consultants here in Australia that provide free services like AECC if that's the path that you're planning to take. You're welcome.
hi Ms cassey ask q lng kc ang cnuggest sken ng tita q s consultancy mag child care for 2 yrs, risky kc ang bridging program, im a nurse nga pla with 5 yrs exp in middle east ang trget intake is on october... tanong q lng ano ang mga options q after q mag studies since meron aqng exp ano ang mga mggwa q pra mkkuha ng work after studies... no idea s mga processing... medyo hesitant pa kc i dont know kung ano mga dadatnan q jan, tsk i know out of topic... mrmi bng work n maaplayan ng students jan?
Hi, sorry, but the consultancy must have been mistaken? Why would they say such? Getting a bridging course isn't risky, it's actually less riskier than getting a conversion course. What is riskier is what they suggested you to do which is getting a child care course. Is there even a permanent visa route after you finish your childcare course? After you finish your studies and your visa is expired whatever course it is, you have to go home. Studying here doesn't guarantee your stay here in Au.
You can't use your experience as a Nurse with Childcare. It doesn't work that way in Australia. They will look into a Childcare experience. What do you want to achieve here in Au? If you want to be a nurse, then it's only through Bridging or Nursing Conversion course.
And just to add up as well if you get a bridging course you are sure that there's a pathway for PR which other courses don't have. And yes, jobs are available just don't be fussy. Just grab whatever job is available.
Yes, you can shift. It's easy as long as you have proper and complete documents plus finances. You have to be careful though because some institutions would ask you to pay the whole tuition fee even if you are not finishing the course.
Hello Ms. Cassey! I have few questions po kaya I decided na i-message ka nalang dito directly. We migrated here in Perth last week and I just graduated po last March 2017 and passed the PH Nursing Licensure Exam last June 2017. May I ask po if kailangan ko pa po ifill-up yung AGOS-40 form ng AHPRA then antayin yung response nila? Do I also have to take the IELTS po?
Hi, are you planning to take conversion course since you don't have an experience? Yes, i think you will still have to fill up the AGOS 40 because you are registered overseas BUT that is after you finish the course. You will need to take an English take because that is one of the requirements. It's different from the PR Visa where you are only required to submit the CEMI (because you are a dependent and not the main applicant) Since you don't have any experience just do a Statutory Declaration providing your reasons why you were not able to work as a Nurse. Have it signed by the Justice of Peace and just attach it to your application. If you want to clarify something, you can also call AHPRA. :) All the best!
Good day, Cassey, your responses on this thread are so helpful! Baka you can also shed light and help us decide. My husband is eligible to take the bridging program for nurses. Is it always the tourist visa issued for this course? The reason I asked is because if he can be granted a student visa, we'd like to take chance na sabay kami pumunta, as his dependent I can work right away. At least may bumabalik agad na funds.
Hi, with bridging course you can choose whether to apply for TV or Student Visa. TV doesn't come with work rights but with student visa you're allowed to work for 20hrs a week. It would be a challenge to find a job though because it's just a 3mos course. Yung visa fee for dependent lang ang binayaran namin plus medicals. Sa Deakin Uni nagaral si hubby at yun yung walang show money yun nga lang it's pricy compared to other Unis offering conversion course.
Hi cassey, ask ko lng na i have 5 yirs hosp abroad experience then i applied for student visa. It is better ba na ung cert coursen nd diploma ang kunin o mag babachelor of nursing ako? Kasi they advised na if above 3 yirs ok lng na di mag bsn and its expensive also. Just wanna know ur thoughts about it. Thank u
Hi, Are you a Registered Nurse with a recent 5yrs experience? If you are, you don't have to take a Bachelor's course because you have 5yrs of experience. You can go for a bridging course which is a shorter course, 3months at the moment. After you finish bridging, you can register as a Nurse here in Au, have a skills assessment with ANMAC and afterwhich you can apply for PR. Cert courses even if they are a bit cheaper would not lead to PR so it's just a waste of your time and money. It wouldn't lead to your registration as a nurse as well.
If you don't want to do bridging, you can do a 1yr Nursing conversion course. It's just a longer course. It will lead into registration as well as PR as long as you meet the requirements.
Conversion course is a 1yr shortened Bachelor's Course. So basically for Overseas Nurses they have cut down the years. Instead of doing 3yrs, its down to a year or 2 depending on the Uni that you'll be applying into. It is totally different from Cert Courses. Cert courses are basic courses under Vocational Education and Training (VET) while Conversion is under Higher Education Courses.
Oo, pwede mong isama yung dependent mo with conversion course and it's under student visa. It's not eligible for Graduate Visa. Graduate Visa is just for those who completed a 2yr course. Most likely, you will be running out time to process everything for PR. You can either apply for another student visa or just go back to Philippines and process it offshore.
So after a year if di kayanin ng time dun na mag aaply for another student visa na onshore applicarmtion at pede na yubg mga cert courses or VET courses kukunin pra ma prolong ang stay mo while nag cocontinue ka pa sa pr proces niyan? Thank you really casey for your time answering my querries.
Yep, pwedeng magapply for another student visa onshore. Pwedeng VET course as long as related siya sa tinapos mo na course at pag VET meron siyang show money requirement.
Problem. ko is, since wala naman ako experience malabo ang may magsponsor sakin right? And, currently naka 55 points lang din ako. So even after macomplete ko yung bridging course kelangan ko pa din makakuha ng superior sa PTE/IELTS. So far nameet ko palang is all 65. So tama pp ba nag magconversion ako o magbachelor for 2 years? Salamat po sa tine and input mo.
Hi, No problem. Do you mean 1 yr conversion course?
You can check NSW.
Para makagain ng points, it's either you increase your English test result or pwede rin yung 1yr work experience dito sa Au once you get your registration here or yung 2yrs na Bachelor's course. Yun nga lang pag mas mahaba yung course mo, it's riskier because you don't know when the rules will be changing with immi and with AHPRA and ANMAC as well. Just to let you know, they will soon be introducing 2exams for the registration of internally qualified nurses.
Hi i already received my offer letter in deakin.. For 1 yr intake next year 2018 feb. excited, pero question lang po ano po ang advantage ng student visa to bridging program? Or any disadvantages ba or suggestions thanks
That's good, yung bridging well mas mabilis siya pero pag once na natapos yung course at wala kang nahanap na sponsor uuwi ka ng Pinas so sa Pilipinas mo na gagawin yung PR application mo, etc...and with bridging depending on the visa yung work limitations may differ. Pag 1yr intake you can work while studying for 20hrs a week plus the subjects are not cramped and you have more time i guess to have your documents ready for registration and PR though kukulangin talaga ng time kasi matagal ang waiting period for AHPRA and ANMAC plus EOI and PR application pa.
Malaki ang chance considering na malaki ang demand nila for Nurses here in Au. As long as mameet mo yung requirements for registration, skill assessment and PR requirements then you'll be fine.
Hello Casey, my questions lang ako. I resigned last 2012 as a nurse. worked for 4 1/2 yrs sa hospital dito sa pilipinas. I'm planning to migrate sa Australia. my questions are 5 yrs na ko hnd nagwwork as a nurse pede prin kaya ako mgmigrate dun? kelangan ba tlga ng bridging course pra maaccredit ako ng ANMAC? please answer my questions.
Hi, lahat kailangang magaral regardless of your work experience. Hindi ka makakapagregister as a nurse dito sa Au without studying here. Unfortunately with the bridging, they require applicants to have a recent experience which is within 5yrs from the date of application. With ANMAC, work experience should be within 5yrs as well so yung sa'yo might not be recognized anymore because it's past 5yrs or going 5yrs already.
Pwedeng magmigrate after studying here and after registering as a nurse here in Au as long as you meet the points for migration and as long as you'll get a positive assessment from ANMAC.
You can get a student visa then after studying you can apply for PR provided that you meet the conditions. PR Visa (permanent) is different from a student visa(temporary). You can bring your family here while you're on a student visa as long as you have the funds to support them. If the kids are staying here in Au for longer than 6mos you have to enrol them as international students which can be costly. You are only allowed to work for 20hours a week if you're on a student visa.
