@zitrojam
hi there! im a newbie here. I am glad I saw this forum where I can seek help to make things clear. π
This is my profile (where I am now): I am 25 y/o and working for 5 years as IT Business Systems Analyst. I haven't lodged application for Skills Assessment at ACS. I am on the process of collecting requirements for the assessment. I reviewed the ACS guidelines and checklist. Respall also did a walkthrough of the whole process. There are just thing I needed to clarify...
Here are my questions:
- Is it better to migrate DIY or with a help of RMA? My bf and I did the initial assessment with Respall. Please advise us if is it possible and easy to DIY because their prof fee is so much for us. Or, can we get the Respall service after the ACS Result and before the lodging of EOI so we will incur lesser cost. Or can you recommend other cheaper yet knowledgeable agents?
Yes, you can definitely DIY. Just make sure to fully understand the processes/steps of each phase: from Skills assessment to EOI submission to Visa lodgement. Read the ACS and IMMI sites (for info on Skilled Indepedent visa go to https://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/189.aspx). Start with understanding the ACS requirements. The result from the assessment will determine your points under the Educational Qualifications and Work Experience factors.
- My bf does not qualify for the initial assessment due to the years of his work experience. He is a web developer btw. Respall agent told us that I can be the principal applicant and he will be dependent provided that we marry before EOI or Visa lodgement. Is it true that he will also get the same SI 189 visa if I qualify most of the processes? What is he required to do? Does he have to undergo the ACS Skill Assessment too?
Yes, provided that you marry before EOI or visa lodgement, you can claim Partner points (5 points). To claim this, your partner must also undergo a skills assessment from ACS (he just needs a suitable result for his nominated occupation) . Dapat nasa SOL din yung nominated occupation nya. Kailangan din nya ng IELTS (minimum of 6 for all bands). Details on Partner points requirements are in https://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/189.aspx under the Points test tab.
- In case I chose to DIY, are there any tips you can give me to have a successful ACS Assessment and Visa grant? What is the estimate overall cost until the visa grant?
Read and make sure to fully understand the ACS requirements and docs needed. Do a self-evaluation based on these reqts; check that you meet all their requirements in order to have a suitable result. Start with the assessment since you won't be able to move on to the next steps (EOI and visa lodgement) without a suitable skills assessment. Costs are on the ACS website. Cost ng Visa naman ay nasa site that I provided above, may cost estimator sila dun. Tyaga2 lng talaga sa pag-basa. π
Sorry for this long post. Hope you can help us with our journey!
Thank you very much! π
