Hello, question lang, my wife and I are both Engineers and we have 1 kid, if we plan apply for subclass 189, I have a few questions;
1) Do we need to file separate applications? Because there is an option that i can include them in my application.
2) If i include them in my application does my wife still need to go Skills Assessment or only the English Assessment will do?
1) I’m not sure which application you’re referring to - skills assessment or visa application?
2) if you want to gain 10 points then that’s a big YES to both skills assessment and English!
A few tips when you plan your strategy:
1) don’t fixate your application on just 189 visa. Not until you’re about to lodge your EOI, it is very difficult to be decisive on the visa subclass to apply for. Be content with knowing that you have 3 subclasses as options. The reason behind this is that it’s somehow premature to decide on a visa subclass when in reality, process can change from the time you start working on your skills assessment application to getting the results. I always tell my clients that we’ll review their options when we’re ready to lodge the EOI.
2) it is beneficial to have your wife skills assessed. Both of you can lodge an EOI, both can claim 10 points (English + positive skills assessment). Whoever gets invited will then become the main applicant.
All the best!
