Hi, I'd like to take this opportunity to ask someone who has/have recently applied for Independent / Sponsored VISAs (189 & 190) applications :

How much is the visa charge for (Subclass 189) for:

1a. Primary Applicant,

1b. Dependents (spouse & child with less 18 y.o)
How much is the visa charge for (Subclass 190) for:

2a. Primary Applicant,

2b. Dependents (spouse & child with less 18 y.o)
Are these one time payment upon lodging of Visa application?
How much is the charge for Medical ?

4a. Primary Applicant
1. Dependents (spouse & child with less than 18 yo)
When & where to have the Medical?

as of today the visa fee is 3060aud.. that is the standard application fee regardless how many are in the application (you, spouse and dependents).. same for visa 189 or 190
The accredited clinics in each country are listed in the website:

you mean the $3060 charge is inclusion of spouse & child/ren? In the link that I've read, 1st installment is $3060, 2nd Installment with amount of $4250 for Dependents -> Any dependants (included in application) 18 yrs or over with less than functional English.

yes.. 3060 is one time payment for the whole family included in the application..

2nd installment is only if you cannot satisfy english requirements for dependent (18yrs old up)..there are many ways to satisfy that..one would be, providing cert of english as medium of instruction from their college.. or taking IELTS exam with score of 4.5..

hello guys!

I called DIAC several times with regards to my question "How would you classify if a work experience is closely related to your nominated occupation"? Unfortunately, nobody can give me a definite answer. I asked 2 different agents on different occasions. I also emailed DIAC about this, but I received no reply.

But I do have a problem, binasa ko ulit yung assessment letter ng assessing body ng occupation ko. Although positive ang result for the skills and qualification, naka-indicate din sa letter na NO/NIL experience ako sa occupation na yun. Pero after that, may clause na last say pa rin ang DIAC kung ika-count nila ang job experience ko na nilagay ko when inassss nila ko. Now. I am totally confused kung itutuloy ko pa ang application kung madedeny lang din naman. Kailangan ko po kasi yung 5 points to meet the minimum.

I hope you can help me. Thank you in advance.

this is what they have in their released guidelines before:

"For the purpose of awarding points, the department considers skilled employment in the nominated occupation or a closely related occupation will comprise at least 20 hours employment per week. In determining whether an applicant’s skilled employment is closely related to their nominated occupation, the department will take into consideration the occupations within one unit group classified under Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO)."

yan po ba ang hinahanap nyo?

can you elaborate your details (nominated occupation at ano ang mga work exp nyo)?

@honeybunny - nevermind my previous questions.. nabasa ko na ung history ng questions mo.. and i guess nasagot ko na rin with the same answer..

here is my point, kung hindi nag-aassess ng kung ilan ang related/closely related work experience ang assessing body mo, then wala talagang choice but to give the decision to DIAC's CO..

if your work experience COE+ Job description is matching with the definition of ANSZCO, then walang issue.. you can check it by yourself..
if you have big doubts about your work exp versus the definition of ANSZCO, then that is really a big problem..

Yes, that is precisely my point. They are under the same unit group of ANZSCO code which is pharmacist. Industrial pharmacist nga lang hindi retail but they are under the same group. Nadeduce ko na din na bahala na nga talaga ang CO na maghahandle ng case ko. Medyo apprehensive lang ako kasi it's my father who will pay for all of these. It's not my money.

Here is another info from DIAC:

For sure alam ng DIAC kung nagbibigay ba ng opinion ang assessing authority mo..
Kung may communication/record ka from them na nagsasabi na DIAC na ang bahala, you can provide that sa DIAC CO incase na magtanong sila..
just make sure na pulido ang mga docs mo COE+JD, other supporting docs payslip+ITR

para hindi ka nmn masyadong mabahala, i'll give you an example: meron din mga ganyang case sa mga Accountants, hindi sila na-assessed ng work exp before, pero they claimed points based on what they believe is correct, nagka CO, wla nmn issues.. and visa grant na sila ngaun..

yes i have electronic paper trail of all of the communication I sent. Lahat yun nasa email ko. Meron din reference number from DIAC about my question pero hanggang ngayon wala pa din reply. Pero Im quite confident kasi binasa ko ng paulit ulit yung meaning ng DIAC about closely related occupation. Maybe I'll call them again... Malapit na kasi magexpire yung invitation. sayang naman/

@honeybunny - first and foremost, you may not get any response from DIAC on this. They are not obliged to give any answers from you as most of the details are in the Booklet 6.

"How would you classify if a work experience is closely related to your nominated occupation" - this is a very vague to be honest and this is probably beyond the scope of an institution doing a generalist type of work such us DIAC. Henceforth this is where your assessing body comes in - as they are more knowledgeable in your specific field (in this case pharmacy), they would be in the best position to give an opinion on whether your work experience can be used to claim for points or not.

I know someone from the forum (@[deleted]) - his work experience overseas was not credited as related by his skills assessing body. So what he did was not declare this as not relevant nalang in his visa application.

While it is true that it is eventually DIAC who will give the points, I go back to my 2nd paragraph above; as these people are generalist, they will have no choice but to base their decision on what was the opinion of the skills assessing body.

Hope this somehow clears any doubts...

Yeah, that is the reason why I'm totally confused. Di ko alam if magproproceed pa ko knowing that there is a chance that they will deny it.

@honeybunny - I don't know how your skills assessing body works but you can prolly try to appeal on your work experience result?!

Just an out of the blue suggestion...

first step is to have qualifications assessed and then you have to take stage 1 exam para ma-classify as suitable for migration purposes. Ok naman both skill qualifications and napasa ko exam plus IELTS no problem. Yung work experience lang talaga yung problema ko. I'm in touch of APC (assessing body) ng pharmacy. I'm just waiting for their follow up reply.

tama ang sabi ni @psychoboy, since the assessing authority for my skill (ICAA), did not consider my work experience abroad, hindi ko na lang cya sinama sa pag claim ng points. Buti na lang ung work experience ko sa Pinas ay counted.

@honeybunny ask ko lang, dun sa sa assessment na ginawa sau hindi kasama ang work experience sa mga inassess nila sau, or wala man lang ba option to to have it assessed?

regarding invitation.. case kasi namin is ang total points is 60.

can i assume na maiinvite kami dahil pasok naman yung points? yun nga lng eh mas

matagal ang waiting time? or posible na totally hndi mainvite let say umabot na

ng 2 years (hopefully not) yung EOI from the day na sinubmit?

total points kasi namin is 60 pts, applying for visa190

maraming salamat po =)

bale ang accumulated points nyo po eh 55 + 5 (for SS) = 60 points?

Depende po kung na reach na ang ceiling...

Excerpt from Dec 2012 report:

"Invitations are subject to yearly occupational ceilings. The following occupation has reached its annual occupational ceiling:

Chemical and Materials Engineers

No further invitations can be issued for this occupation group until 1 July 2013. This limitation does not apply to Employer Sponsored or Business Innovation and Investment visa classes. For clients with an Expression Of Interest in this occupation group, your Expression Of Interest will remain valid for two years from the date you submitted your Expression Of Interest."
