just sharing my experience hehe... halos inabot ng 2 months bago naka hanap ng work... tpos isang actual interview lang... pero sinwerte nmn at na hire.. on my 2nd job now... 🙂) 🙂>- , as they say apply lang ng apply... 🙂>-

Wag kayo ma discourage. Dami akong kilala who came here in 2014-2015, inabot halos ng 6-8 months bago nagkawork. Eventually, nakahanap rin naman. 🙂

Hi guys. I'm still looking for work for two months now. I apply mostly thru Seek and hanggang "Employer viewed your application" lang, no calls after that. Last Sunday night, I was browsing Seek and looked for newly posted jobs within my area then I saw this job position which suits my experience. It was freshly posted on Sunday (may nakalagay na 5 hours ago) and I decided to apply dahil sa isip ko it was the best time dahil Monday kinabukasan, for sure nasa office ang mga employers. Then today I received a rejection email from them saying they had shortlisted and I was not selected blah blah blah.

As I was reading the rejection letter from the employer, I realized na na attached pala ng employer yung email mismo from Seek nung nag notify na may application sila na na receive (which comes from me) tapos I saw this.

Please see the attached picture. Yung nakafill ng red details ko yun.

So yung first na mag a appear pala sa employers e yung recent job title mo, company, time in role...then they can short list or reject you without even taking a look at your resume (look at the button at the bottom left "Shortlist candidate? Shotlist, Not suitable")

Kasi yung button na "Get the full picture, View Applicant" yun yung mag automatic email sayo yung Seek na naview yung application mo from the employer eh hindi ako naka receive ng ganung email from this employer. It just means he rejected me straight away basing on my recent job title. Yung responsibilities ko tugma sa job post (if only employers will read my resume) pero yung job title kasi hindi kaya yun din siguro yung naisip kong isang reason. Kaya I am thinking of changing it to my first job, na may "Engineer" title in it, kasi baka may chance pa. Okay lang kaya?

I wonder how a posting can be fresh on Sunday, but then already has a shortlist on Monday. May mga organisations rin na perfunctory na lang ang pag post sa Seek para lang masabi na pinublic yung role, pero internally, meron na silang preferred applicant.

As long as including "Engineer" in your title is backed up by actual Engineer qualifications and experience, then I guess okay lang. My suspicion though in your case is the former. It had nothing to do with your qualification. They probably never intended to seek external applicants anyway.

I read/heard somewhere that sometimes, employers had already a person/applicant in mind even before posting a job ad, sometimes baka formality sake n lng yung job ad.

but never lose hope, lahat tayo may nakalaan.. took me 2.5 months to land a job in line of my work exp..

kapit lang.. i know someone 8 months n atang looking.. but still positive p din sya..

Hi guys,

Share ko lng din experience ko. So I’m on my second month sa pagapply mostly via seek. Same as thatbadguy puro viewed your resume lng ung nakikita ko tapos walang response kahit rejection letter nga wala. Then may mga naresiv dn akong email na mga 3 recruiter ang nagdownload ng resume ko and one of them is randstad. A few minutes later may tawag ako from them at nagooffer ng work. 4-month contract lng sya and mejo hndi maganda ung location (need to idrive kc 2 hours pag commute and 3 bus pa sskyan) but it’s a multinational company altho mas kilala sya sa US.

Nagsched ng interview si recruiter the next day. Inassess ako by mga computer tests nla para sa work and happy naman sya. Nalaman ko lang na kaya nya ko nakita dun sa skills na nilagay ko sa profile ko sa seek. So I suggest iupdate nyo un kahit konti lng or saglit ung experience nyo. Yung nilagay kong program sa skill is one of the programs ng oracle at dun nya ko nakita. Apparently naghhnap daw ung client nya na marunong dun. But ang nkakatawa kamo ung employer d pa pala marunong nun kc d pa pala nila ginagamit and schedule nilang gamitin after end ng contract ko. Kaya mejo confusing haha. Kumbaga d ko nman din sya mgagamit habang employed ako sa kanila pero kelangan nila ng marunong non?? Pero pasalamat na din ako because of that nakita ako at inofferan ako ng work ng recruiter.

Of course d nako naginarte tinanggap ko naman. Very casual lng ang interview sa employer at very busy sila kaya need nila ng employee asap. Wala pakong pinipirmahan na contract but i have the recruiter’s word na sakin na daw ung position and malaki daw chance na maging permanent ung role at 2 daw nlagay nya don na tao nya na naging permanent. Halos everyday tntwagan ako ng recruiter ko na nagtatanong na wala ka nmang pnupuntahan na interview ha? Lol.

@kat123 good to hear positive story like this. Pero di ka na din nag aaply sa iba? Malay mo pag sinabi mo on going ang application mo habang wala pa na ka close deal, baka I expedite nila ang pirmahan ng kontrata.

@batman hindi na. Mejo napapagod na din ako saka nkakadepress din na puro rejection letters. Parang naisip ko lang na eto na yung pede kong gawing local experience tapos apply na lang ako after ng contract hopefully mas madali na.

Ang reason sakin ng recruiter is yung login details sa network at sa email account sinesetup pa kaya natatagalan. Wala pa namang one week after ng interview ko sa company kaya ok pa din naman. Sabi lang ng recruiter ko by next week magstart nako di lang sya sure kung aabot sa Monday.

@brucedenz actually d ko din alam iclarify ko din. Nung nainterview kasi ako sa randstad may pinabasa na parang under nga ako sa agency and i have to submit yung time records ko sa sa kanila to get paid. Di pa naman sakin kinaclarify ng recruiter ko yun so tatanong ko once I’ve signed. Kakareceive ko nga lang ng contract now ang nakalagay sa start and end date TBA. Maayos naman ung consultant na nagaasikaso sakin lagi naguupdate so maliliwanagan ako end of this week hopefully.

@brucedenz yes. Local experience lang talaga din habol ko. Sana makakuha ka din soon. Pag natapat ka ng maayos na recruiter ihanap ka din talaga nya.

Btw try mo din yung jobscan. I tried it sa isang application wala pakong response so di ko alam kung nagwork. Basically ang ginagawa nya icompare nya ung resume mo vs sa job ad and then bibigyan ka nya ng percentage na match. 80% ang ideal tapos imark nya kung ano dapat mong iadd na mga words ganyan para makalusot ka sa screening at makaland ng interview sa mga companies na gumagamit ng resume screening software.
