Longer Tourist Visas for Parents of Australians / PR Visa Holders

Guys, this is quite old news, but thought I'd share kasi wala pa ako nakita naka-post.

<i>"Since 24 November 2012, parents of Australian citizens and permanent residents have been able to apply for Tourist (Subclass 676) visas to visit Australia for longer. These changes allow parents who meet the criteria for a Tourist visa to have regular extended visits with their family in Australia without needing to apply for a new visa on each visit and also recognise the length of the Parent visa queue.

Multiple entry visas with a maximum stay of 12 months will be considered on a case- by-case basis with maximum validity periods of up to:

five years for parents outside Australia and in the Parent (subclass103) visa queue

three years for parents outside Australia who have:

    had a previous Australian visa and complied with the conditions; and

    have not applied for a Parent visa; or

    have applied for a Parent (subclass 103) visa but are not yet in the Parent  visa queue

18 months for parents who have:

    not previously travelled to Australia; and

    have not applied for a Parent visa; or

    have applied for a Parent (subclass 103) visa but are not yet in the Parent  visa queue."</i>

question po..pwede ko ba isabay mom ko with tourist visa (s 676) pag initial entry.

kasama namin mom ko now dito SG na LTVP (long term visit pass) now..

If ever swertehin kami pwede ba namin sya isabay as tourist naman.. may nakagawa na ba ganun? thanks 🙂

As seperate application sya. pero check mo yung requirements ng tourist visa kung pasok sya. Hindi ba sya puedeng isabay sa Application nyo as dependent?

Also note that Parents tourist visa extension is for the second time application. meaning first time application is 18 months of validity lang with maximum of 12 months and they have to wait 6 months before applying again.

Second application is 3 years validity with maximum of 12 months stay in 18 months period.

pag nagapply na kayo ng parents visa at nasa Q na sya is 5 years ang validity. 🙂

okay ito..hintay rin ako updates. Plan rin namin sana isama mother in law ko para mag-alaga kay baby habang naghahanap kami ng work.

@Aiwink and @rolf021 - if i may give my understanding on the above link; this is only applicable for PR and Citizens - meaning tayo na hindi pa nakapag initial entry, we are still not PRs in Australia.

However, try niyo pa rin i-apply ang parents ninyo with a 676 once you have your visa grant. Isama ninyo rin yung visa grant letter ninyo as an added document sa tourist visa application ng parent/s ninyo.

Minsa naman kasi they can be considerate naman sa pagbigay ng tourist visa - like sa akin, i was given a 1 year multiple entry as I placed in my tourist visa application na I may come back to Australia within a year to celebrate my 1st year anniversary. So ayun, may multiple 1yr visa. On the other hand, my wife did not indicate na babalik sya so single entry lang sya.

Hello po. Pag inapply ko po ba ng Tourist Visa - Sponsored Family Stream ang Mommy ko. Okay lang po ba ilagay sa Question 24. Why do you want to visit Australia? - Na magaalaga siya ng baby ko? Ayaw ko po kasi ilagay sa day care. As much as possible gusto ko po relatives pa din magaalaga. Thanks. 🙂

Khorups don't! Tourist visa holder is not allowrd to work whether its paid or not

I suggest you put your kid on a daycare at least 1 day a week, it will make you at ease with the idea of daycare and second it will teach your son to be independent

Visa class 600- Tourist stream ( was 676 ) always works for us all the time

Hi to all! We have PR visa and nakapag-initial entry na rin kami for a week last 2012 and then came back to dubai to save more for "baon".

I have read at immi website na if you want to sponsor parents thru Tourist visa, dapat ay at least naka-2 years na settled sa AU. We want sana na isabay na sa amin ang parents when we do the big move next year.

Is there somebody here na nakapagprocess ng tourist visa for parents kahit na ang sponsors ay hindi pa nakaka2years sa AU?

Is there any other way para maisabay namin ang parents namin?

First time I invited a tourist way back 2007 i was only less than 6 months being a PR 🙂

hi @goreo, currently processing tourist visa para sa mom ko. nag initial entry narin kami last Dec 2013 and planning to settle by july 2014. Iniapply namin si mother ng tourist visa sa Dubai, nirequest sya for medical kasi long stay, now waiting for further steps na papagawa sa kanya. Hoping for visa grant!
