SS = State Sponsorship. Visa 190 is a State nominated points-based visa. The visa 190 allows skilled workers who are nominated by an Australian state or territory government live and work in Australia as a permanent resident. It also requires the skilled worker to live in that state for at least 2 years.
There are many states to choose from for you to ask nomination from:
NSW - New South Wales -(where Sydney is)
VIC - Victoria -(where Melbourne is)
ACT - Australia Capital Territory
QL - Queensland -(where Brisbane is)
NT - Norther Territory -(where Darwin is)
SA - South Australia -(where Adelaide is)
WA - Western Australia -(where Perth is)
It is recommended that you contact the state or territory government agency from whom you are seeking a nomination to discuss their nomination process and requirements.
To be eligible for the 190 visa, you must:
have a relevant occupation
have a suitable skills assessment for the occupation
meet the points test pass mark of 60 points
be nominated by a state or territory government agency
be under 45 years of age at time of invitation
have Competent English
