Hmmm.. ano ba.. wear seatbelts? Haha. Follow traffic signs especially if tumatawid? From what I remember, stricly followed yun right of way kasi dito.. baka pag tumawid ka ng go, masagasaan ka.. deds. Sorry morbid. Haha survival tips naman yun thread diba so hindi OT? 😃 😃

Not yet... Pero regarding UGG boots, sobrang uso sya sa US lalo na kung winter... nagtataka nga ako e, bat may winter boots from AU hahahaha

Question po...mas praktikal po ba na bumili ng winter clothing dito sa Pinas (i.e. ukay ukay) kesa bumili mismo sa Australia (i.e. during summer season)? May kabigatan din kasi yung mga ganitong damit baka hindi naman kamahalan sa OZ hehe

Cost of living depends on one's lifestyle naman. Kahit siguro gaano kalaki ang income if maluho, wala pa ring maiipon. Masipag naman tayong mga Pinoy and madiskarte kaya I'm sure we can survive anywhere.

It's human nature to be scared of the uncertain pero let's not give up hope. One couple from Sydney told me that they both earn an annual income of 40k/each and yet they live comfortably and can afford yearly Philippine vacations.

Switch your water heater to night rate if possible. Shop at Aldi's. Try to get a place near your workplace so you can save on petrol. Mag research muna at magbasa bago pumirma sa kung ano mang kontrata tulad ng phone, internet etc. Iwasan ang kung ano mang mga utang tulad ng credit card etc.

Magluto ka. Yung pagkain mo ng dinner, un na din ang lunch mo the day after. Bili ka ng mga microwaveable na baunan( tupperware o kahit ano basta matibay).
Magbaon ka din ng sarili mong tubig. Mahal ang au water.
Bili ka ng Travel 10 or ung unli 1 week na pang transpo. With that, alamin mo kung ilang sections ang travel ng bus mo. Mybus-1, mybus-2 and mybus- 3. Yan ang alam ko sa travel ten.
Ung mga brochures sa woolies, coles o aldi, kunin mo. baka may makita kang kelangan mo dun. Relatively mura ung mga nandun.
Mejo may kamahalan ang pinoy shops/market (sorry) compared sa ibang asian shops. hehe. parang sa specification lang, Pinoy Item or approved equivalent. Hanap ka ng mejo katulad ng iyong pinoy item. May mga mas mura dyan.

@genki - I would like to comment lang on your statement above re: Iwasan ang kung ano mang mga utang tulad ng credit card etc.

Di naman po cguro masama ang credit card IF you know how to control... I have mentioned this in the other thread that I have always been an advocate of charge everything to your credit card, the key here is to know your limits and pay on time.

Having practiced this for the past 4 years here in Singapore, I was able to save up on points and converted this into airlines. So ayun nakalibre ako at si wifey ng trips to Hong Kong and pauwi sa Pinas. 😃

Apart from paying on time, I just have one active credit card during my stay here in Singapore. So ayun, I make it work for me... 🙂

By the way, this is a very nice thread, kudos to the TS @PLAC 🙂

Just like @psychoboy, na mention ko rin ang cc, Qantas Frequent Flyer / Woolies Everyday Rewards sa kabilang thread.

Tipid Tips: Pag on special na ang essentials, bumili na kahit hindi pa need straightaway. Things like laundry detergent, shampoo, toothpaste, rice, mga bagay na for sure you will need in the coming weeks. Malaki matitipid lalo na kung medyo branded yung type nyo.

Kung may space, ok din magtamin. Kahit kamote or kangkong lang if you have space. Or herbs na nasa paso, mas fresh mas masarap.

Sa amin din mas mura ang Woolies kaysa sa Coles, depende yan sa lugar. Actually, lumabas sa study few years ago na hindi standard ang pricing nang Woolies/Coles branches kahit sa magkakalapit na suburbs. Minsan daw mas mura pa ang basket of goods doon sa mas mayaman na suburbs, so compare nyo na lang.
