2018 Job Opportunities in Adelaide

Hello. Baka may active dito now makikiask lang ako. Kamusta ang job hunting ngayon sa adelaide? Is there a best time to arrive na peak ang job availabilities, and are there lean months? My husband will arrive in adl in August while me and the kids on Dec. He is a chef while I’m into Retail. Id like to ask how are job opportunities in these industries? Also, sa mga recent migrants, how long did you get a job and from what industry are you employed? Ive read that in previous years, SA has the highest unemployment rate, I am hoping that it has improved now since I have also read there are new investments and opportunities coming in the state. I hope others could also share experiences for us new migrants. Thanks

There is no such thing as peak or off peak in terms of job opportunities. Maybe if you are referring to seasonal work like christmas/ farm employment. I work for a remote catering and hospitality company based in the mines on fly in fly out work. If you want, I can try to recommend your husband for a Chef position. @fgs Hi! Thanks for your reply. My husband has Certificate in Fundamentals in cullinary and Bread Baking, as well as Tesda NCII in Baking. His experience is more on our catering business (part time) which started last 2010. We have Permits and registrations for that. Will that suffice? Ive also read some postings for FIFO jobs but they have numerous requirements and other licenses which we are not familiar. Do you think he can apply with those credentials only? Thanks

Just showcase his experience in his resume. Chefs here should at least have Cert III in Commercial Cookery but if he have extensive experience. that could be considered.

ito rin ang next na big challenge haharapin namin..... balita ko mahirap daw maka pasok mga software related jobs, pero ok lng, hindi muna ako mamimili ng work🙂

@kh@L3L Any job lang muna pra may income na pumapasok. Pagdating mo du connect ka kaagad sa mga Pinoy doon, importante daw sa Oz ang connections pag naghahanap ng work. If meron ka kakilala mag refer sayo sa company plus factor na yun. :-)

Hi, been here two years, parang kelan lang when I was also looking up the thread here to get info. When we started, got into odd jobs too like sa farming, but since PR kami nag avail kami ng subsidized courses sa aged care and disability (even if that's not our line of work in Phils) and that got us into the job immediately. Do check RTOs (Registered Training Organizations) aside from TAFE if there are subsidized courses which you may find useful.

Hi mga kabayan baka po may alam kayo na any work 6 weeks na po kasi ako naghahanap meron na ako mga interview but yung iba need ng own car at lisensya kasi puro field base, pa PM naman if may alam kayo electronic technician/maintenance or any work na pwede PR po ako kaso nahihirapan ako talaga.

@SoonToBe3 Hi! Try mo mag apply sa TSA, sila yung BPO ng AGL. Google mo lang website ng TSA. Mabilis sila mag respond sa applicants importante lang available ka from 7am to 9pm kasi naka shifting sila. Nag try ako mag apply dyan before after a day tumawag sila agad pero di ako nag proceed kasi di na ako pwede after 6pm dahil may kids ako. Try mo if wala kang limitation sa time.

More than 1 month na ako sa Adelaide. Naghahanap ako ng kahit part-time job habang tuloy pa rin pag-aapply sa occupation ko. Meron bang may alam kung paano makapasok sa factory work gaya ng Balfours na packing, etc?
