@archdreamchaser <i class="Italic">Condition 8504 “initial entry date” is condition if your visa will be affected by is it was granted whilst you were outside of Australia. A visa holder with Condition 8504 attached must enter Australia before the date that is specified on their visa grant notice. This is found on visa grant notice under the “Must not arrive after” date. This gives the visa holder time to sort out personal affairs before travelling to Australia. For permanent migrant visas, this is usually five years from the visa grant date. The reasoning behind this is to reduce the possibility of the visa holder failing the core health and character requirements.

Condition 8504 does not however, require the visa holder to settle in Australia before the date. It merely requires that the visa holder sets foot on Australian soil before the date. It is not possible for the initial entry date to be amended. Breaching this condition may result in the cancellation of your visa.</i>

Saang state po ang nag-sponsor sa inyo? Some states require that you register your arrival, but otherwise, the wording of the 8504 provision is that you enter Australia before the indicated date and does not say the specific state. As such, I would presume that the mere arrival and immigration clearance at any Australian point of entry would satisfy the requirement.

I though po I am just allowed in regional areas of QLD. Could you kindly give your insights regarding this matter po. Thank you po in advance.

anywhere in Australia except in:

• Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and the Central Coast in New South Wales

• Brisbane and the Gold Coast in Queensland

• Perth and surrounding areas in Western Australia

• Melbourne in Victoria

• the Australian Capital Territory.

Actually the condition is a bit vague. It wasnt specified na regional area lang ng sponsoring state kaya any regional area pwede ka magwork and live. But to be safe, i suggest na sa QLd ka lang because we never know magbago guidelines when applying for 887 visa. Medyo hot discussion ngayon about sending migrants to regional area so baka the states might also ask the fed govt to imposed stricter compliance about sponsored visa conditions.

@fgs yes po it is a bit vague nga, I agree in your suggestion pero given a chance na mas may better opportunities in some other states parang we are missing that possibility po.

@irenesky Yes thats good if you have regional.. Yes and it MUST stay po sa QLD kas yan po ang sponsor state mo po, if you have read that news it means that you need to follow the Visa 489 requirements po kasi pag nag apply ka ng 887 you need to prove po sa kanila.

Visa 190/489 holders usually asks the sponsoring state to release them kapag hirap makahanap ng work. If you are a 489 visa holder mas risky kasi dahil may 887 visa ka pang aapplyan in the future. Stay, live and work in a regional area for min of 2 years as this is a prerequisite for the 887 visa. As I mentioned earlier, any state basta regional area. Take note that the work can be any kahit di related sa nominated occupation mo. States usually release naman ang visa holder but with valid reason like di nga makahanap ng work and of course spent considerable time na in the sponsoring state. It is your moral obligation to the sponsoring state to honor the declaration you signed when you are asking for sponsorship. Nandito ka na ba sa AU?

Thanks a lot @fgs for the insight, just to be on the safe side I'll honor na lang po yung moral obligation ko sa QLD. Wala pa po ako sa AU planning to make my BM approximately on June.

@irenesky that is the safe side which is good in my opinion, this is what happen to my friend in QLD she is a nurse having a visa 489) co worker of my wife in Singapore), muntikan na rin sia maligaw dahil nag offer job sa kanya VIC state peru nun nag ask sia sa QLD hindi sia pinayagan din ang ginawa nia still continue to apply then she got a job in QLD regional also. This happen 2017 under agency sia from Singapore.

Toowomba is the biggest regional city only 2 hrs away from Brisbane. May mga 489 visa holders ako kilala don. I also started on a 489 visa sponsored by SA. Lived and work there for almost 4 years and moved to Qld a year ago. I still work in SA remote
