@RejNaix11 ask the minimum period of occupancy and notice period if any. You are binded by it kahit gusto mo na lumipat kaya yung iba they look for someone to assume their rent or just pay the rent without occupying the room/unit/house.

@carlosau Thanks! Will be posting more about drivers licence, net salary and other important things na nalaman ko but it is for Queensland only. Each state has their own rulings although the procedures and rule principles are almost similar with exceptions. Hope the blog will help others to have a better picture on the life here down under.

Thanks @caienri would you mind sharing kung anong job po ksi nakita ko sa previous post m na kumuha ka ng working with children permit? or pm mo po ako? kasi my fiancee also needs the working with children permit, she's a former teacher and she wants to volunteer muna sa day cares dito habang naghahanap ng job and nag aadjust sa culture.

Quick update sa BM namin:

Upon arrival sa Sydney Terminal 1, mabilis lang kami nakalagpas ng immigration though na-random check kami sa bagahe so pinahiwalay kami ng pila. grabe ang kaba ko kasi nagdala ako ng CPU akala ko di papayagan or bubusisiin pa hahaha yun naman pala aamuyin lang ng aso yung gamit nyo then okay na 🙂

Mga nagawa namin on our 1st day (yesterday):

Get Vodaphone Prepaid Sim (Starter Pack) - 40gb data sya tapos unli call and text na yata for Vodaphone subscribers then X amount of free calls international. 25AUD each then need ang passport pag bumili ka
Get OPAL cards, ito yung parang LRT/MRT stored value, 50AUD ang pinaload namin each since wala pa kami bank account pra sa auto deduction sana.
Nag inquire kami sa service center about sa pagkuha ng TFN, Driver's License saka Working With Children permit for fiancee tapos sabi nila online daw pnaprocess mga yun then for the License need pa daw namin mag exam.

Gawin namin yung mga online applications today para bukas hopefully mkapag start na kami ng job hunting 🙂 Good luck and God bless po sa ating lahat 🙂

Since volunteer xa, check nyo na lang if need nya talaga ng WWCC. Mine is meant for employment purposes so I definitely need one and may bayad xa.

Note lang na you need IDs. Passport and atm card and pinakita ko since wala akong driver’s license.

nakapag file na kami TFN online tapos 28 days pa daw bago i-mail sa address namin, ganun talaga katagal? hehehe.

done ndin sa WWCC online application, we printed the receipt and will present it later sa service centre

For Medicare naman, napansin namin na need yung bank account so di pa nmin nacomplete yung form. Punta kami later sa bank pra mag open ng account 🙂

btw, yung proof of age card nakukuha din ba sa service centres? doon kami sa Macquarie Centre pupunta later hehehe 🙂

@michaelguanzon_ust @milktea13 - welcome to Australia! Naaliw ako basahin yung BIG MOVE story niyo kasi it refreshed my memories of our own Big Move last Mar 2014. Parehong pareho halos mga pinagdaanan the first few days like getting TFN, Medicare, Bank account, etc.

Yung totoong stress is nasa job hunting. Pero tiyaga lang, lahat naman magkakatrabaho eventually. Good luck!

@milktea13 saan ka pong suburb ng Melbourne? West kasi kami so West and City lang ang mai aadvise ko, if looking ka for a job in a Mfg, meron sa Port Melbourne, Sunshine, Derrimut, Laverton. Madami din work sa mga Warehouse para sa kagaya natin, andyan din sa location na yan. Online appln lng po in Seek and Indeed.

Sa East mas marami ata pero ndi na kami nag explore dun kasi mas mura ang house rent dito sa West. Goodluck sa job hunting.

@mycroft_holmes yes, I tried opening a joint account online, they responded today after 2 weeks, you just need to declare saang branch kayo magveverify once you arrive sa OZ. according to what i receive, they will send another email in 2 days containing the infos paano kmi mg transact for online banking. 🙂

@rjq.m yung box mismo ng CPU casing ang gamit ko with styrofoams tapos buo padin hahaha pero nag uninstall ako ng fake windows, Ubuntu nilagay ko pra in case lang na icheck pero ayun, di naman chineck, dinaanan lang ng aso nung narandom check kami 🙂 wag m pala masyado itape kasi bbuksan sa airport tapos may pang tape naman sila ulit 🙂
