Counting down to the big move - DITO tayo...

Entering the final stretch in our self-imposed 3 months vacation; in a month, we should be starting a new life in Australia. I am really looking forward to it but at the same time I am a bit scared and worried of the uncertainties - hindi kasi ito katulad dati sa Singapore wherein pumunta kami ni misis na may work na naghihintay but nonetheless, I remain optimistic.

I guess we have done all the things that needs to be done prior to the flight to Australia except the actual packing of stuffs!

How do you guys feel?

I felt anxious, scared, excited, scared (inulit pa talaga, I really was) - all at the same time, before I came. But life down undah is proving to be good.

You will be fine promise. More than fine pa, if I were betting. Goodluck po. 🙂

oo april 3 na... i have been reading a lot about melbourne, the benefits for pr, the taxation, etc. just so we can be better prepared.

we even bought a book; culture shock australia prior to leaving singapore last december. rubbish book but cge nalang! 🙂

planning to move to NSW by 1st week of May..but up until now, no idea where to stay..i read about using hostels first then later move to shared/own accommodation..nakakakaba lalo't i've never been there before and the idea of leaving my wife & kids behind adds up to the agony..

i'll be taking a one month break sa pinas. by then, i'll be ready, i hope..

Am busy preparing for the big move on the last week of April. Super kaba, excited and stressed as well. Next week ako magtender ng resignation with my current employer whom I'm with for 11 yrs, one week lang bale pahinga ko bago umalis. Mixed feelings actually. Sa sobrang tagal, di ko na alam feeling ng maging new employee ulit hehe. Sayang din kasi me mga business travels akong tinanggihan, di ko pa sinabi real reason kc dami ko pa need ifinalize.

Looking forward na ako sa magiging buhay ko sa Sydney at kahit la ako kakilala, go lang. Yun nga lang, paminsan minsan naisip ko mga maiiwan ko dito at kakalungkot din.

sobrang stressful and the wait is really taking its toll on me. Been lurking all AU websites. Border Security Australia did not help at all, one thing I learned is not to bring any food at all. LOL

I'm still working and rendering my 30 days in the office. Last day is Mar15, despedida party (not my idea) on the 16th and flight to Sydney is on the 19th. I'll be leaving with my partner and with no known relatives in Sydney, we're definitely going to be clueless as soon as we arrive. Accommodation is pre-arranged by our Migration Agent, they also claim to help us in finding a part time job as soon as we land there but I'm still looking for job postings and will try to test my luck just in case.

I know I'll make it but I'm also aware that it's going to be one difficult start. Goodluck to us.

Hi - I am also an accountant and we will be moving to Sydney 2nd week of April. Magkahalong kaba kasi I will be leaving too my work with good pay for 12 years. Our life here in Philippines is okay naman kaya sobrang kabado kami mag-asawa because no work and no permanent house yet. Kunti ipon..Bahala na si batman! Hope to see you all sa Sydney!

mga things to do right after at mga kailangan iaccomplish...

nagttry ako maghanap dito sa forum pero wala pa ako nakikitang thread na ganun.

mga things to do right after at mga kailangan iaccomplish...

(1) Get your tickets sorted asap; the further you are from departure date, chances are the more cheaper your ticket will be.

(2) Sort out your CFO seminar - there is a thread for this so you can refer to it.

(3) Polish your CV - very important so that once you are here in Australia, you can be up and running in no time.

(4) Arrange for accommodation.

(5) If you want, you can start applying baka swertihin kayo na maka-land ng job prior to moving in.
