What's the chance of me getting invited for subclass 189? 65 pts

I submitted my EOI last year, March 8 2018. 65 pts ako for Occupation ID 2331 (Chemical and

Materials Engineer). Pero until now wala pa rin result sa akin. Should I retake an IELTS exam (10 pts lang ang nagain ko from IELTS) and achieve at least 8.0 para mag 20pts ako para maging 75 pts ang total score ko or maghintay lang ako? May chance ba na mainvite pa ako na 65pts lang ako for subclass 189?

Yes you should retake your English test and aim for superior score. At 65 you will never be invited for 189 as per ISCAH’s predictions...

@Mia thank you for your info. Do you have any tips on how i will get at least 8.0 for writing and speaking modules? I will be retaking my IELTS next month, I took the computer based one..

hi @AilAC! 🙂 retake english exam to get superior english.. try PTE as well if hindi mag workout yung IELTS mo nxt month.. For 189, zero chance na yung 65 pts.. try 190 as well baka swertehin.. Godbless po!

@AilAC nakapag book ka naba ng IELTS? mas may greater chance ka for superior score sa PTE-A. I won’t say it is more easier pero more achievable lalo na sa speaking. Take the exam to increase your points. Goodluck 🙂

May room for improvement pa para tumaas ang score mo, so go for it. Base sa trend ng mga previous round of invites, halos close to zero ang naiinvite sa 65. Every round nagkakaron ng applicants na mas mataas ang points, at doon pa lng nuubos na yung slots, baka mag antay ka lang sa wala.. Wag mo sukuan yang english 🙂 kung nahihirapan ka sa IELTS, try mo yung PTE, mas madali daw sya para sa mga nakapag try na pareho. Goodluck sa exams mo :-bd

Hi @AilAC Yes. Everything they've said are true. We have the same ANZSCO code 233111 for chem engrs. I previously submitted my EOI on Oct 2017 with 60 pts but no chances of invite until minumum pts became 65. I did everything just to attain superior english score and able to update my EOI on August 2018 with 70 pts, got invited on October 2018, lodged visa on November 2018 and granted on January 2019. So if achieving superior score in english would increase your total points to get an invite, then go for it! Good luck!

I was in the same situation when I first lodged my EOI. 65 points for Civil engineer.

Looking at the trend, I saw that there is no chance of being invited at 65 points. And even if they started picking 65-pointers, it will take really long before it finally reaches my EOI submission date. Last time 65 pointers were invited was last quarter of 2017 only.

I took PTE last December. By God's grace, I managed to get a superior score. From 65, I became 75. Immediately after updating my EOI, I got invited three days after.

Hopefully, this will inspire you to try raising your score to 75.
