POINTS TEST FOR GENERAL SKILLED MIGRATION TO CHANGE FROM 16 NOV 2019

1) Ten (10) points for having a skilled spouse or de facto partner;

2) Fifteen (15) points for applicants nominated by a State or Territory government or sponsored by a family member residing in regional Australia;

3) Ten (10) points for having certain Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) qualifications

4) Ten (10) points for applicants who do not have a spouse or de facto partner; and

5) Five (5) points for applicants with a spouse or de facto partner who has competent English.

Hi po does number 3 means that if a person or an applicant is an Engineer or someone who has a background in STEM he or she is qualified to claim the "10" points?

Before, advantaegous ang +5 pag may defacto. Now, pag yung partner cannot claim english pts and assessment, the primary applicant can potentially lose pts pa. Single people have no changes, so ngayon wala nang benefit ang having de facto. So in a way mas may advantage na ang single applicants sa pointing system

@MLBS after reading this discussion, I made some research on the proposed changes in the point system. Yes you're right, applicants with partners who cannot claim english points will be the least priority in visa invitation. However, single applicants and those with skilled partners will be given top priority in the ITA and visa approval. Sana umabot kami before Nov. hassle kasi pag dalawa pa kaming mag papa-assess and mag English exam.

@czianczia28 for those who are Australian uni graduates with Masters in research or Phd degree in STEM field like @markier87 are qualified to claim 10 pts for specialist qualification

@superluckyclover Thanks for the info. Currently, I have already claimed 5pts for specialist qualification. 10pts would be great though but will hopefully lodge my 189 before the April ends para maximize ang points, sana will be granted before my 32nd birthday. 🙂

@czianczia28 hindi ba.. sa current point system.. need pa din naman mag english exam ng partner kasi recently daw di na tinatanggap ng COs yung CEMI from Univ?

@joy.0491 Aw hindi ako aware na need pala talaga mag exam ni Husband. If that's the case might as well have his skill assessed, sayang din kasi. Since when po hindi na nag accept ng CEMI ang CO?

@czianczia28 based sa nabasa ko dito.. may ibang nakakalusot.. pero sabi daw recently kinocontact ni CO to take yung english exam. Check mo yung CO Contact Thread. Makita mo dun mga usual na hinihingi ni CO na mga kulang n requirements..

Wala pa info abt jan. Pero i think hanggat di pa naiinvite affected sa changes. Wait natin inputs ng iba

@czianczia28 pag lodged na yes di ka na affected ng new changes. Pero pag wala ka pa invite by then, under ka na sa new rules.

Oh, this is good news for me. clarification lang po. Yung sa No. 2 ba, applicable po ba ito sa Visa 190? Meaning by November instead of plus 5, magiging +15 na?

And another, question, retroactive po kaya ito? For example EOI ko lodged Feb 2019, automatic kaya ma-uupdate yung points by November? Or sa applicants after November 2019 lang ang madadagdagan ng points?

So technically the STEM points is only applicable for Aus uni graduates?

Patibayan na, Wala ng naiinvite sa mga 75 points and below. 80 is new 75.
