Relocating to Melb from Pinas in mid 2020..need advise po..

Hello All

Family of three here with primary school age child relocating to Melb mid 2020.. looking at SE suburbs like Narre Warren.. appreciate feedback about Narre Warren... schools, amenities, rental prop availability, Filipino community... salamat po.

Malaki ang Filo community sa Narre Warren but I can't tell you if okay syang suburb in terms of safety,etc. explore on the crime reports na available from Vic Police to get an idea.

Medyo malayo lang sa city kung concern mo yung travel time. May mga nearby suburbs na industrialised, like Mulgrave, Burwood, East side.

Good day po and salamat sa pag reply sa post ko. Appreciate po inputs on Narre Warren . Noted po and we will check on Vic Police crime reports about the area. Ok lang din kahit may kalayuan para sa amin. Isang major reason is cost, pag medyo malayo we think hindi na masyado gaanung mahal rents. We are on a budget po.

We will explore din po ang suburbs that you mentioned.

No worries, tama ka. Mas malayo sa cbd radius mas mura ang rent. I believe okay ang Narre Warren. Sorry sa mga nakatira sa Clyde area at Cranbourne pero notorious sya as “crime bourne” so baka pwede mo i explore other options mo... pero overall, na sa atin pa rin ang pag iingat at paglagay ng extra security measures sa bahay 🙂 and on top of that, safe na safe ang country na ito..

Thank you po uli for taking the time to respond, the information you are providing will be helpful po sa amin. Encouraging to know the safety in general of the country. Noted po on the other suburbs you mentioned. We are researching further din po and noticed that Berwick could also be a good area to live in potentially, many schools and even without the large shopping centres, marami naman shops based sa nakita namin sa maps.

i havent posted for a long time.. so here i go.

Lots of pinoys around here in berwick and narre warren.

I lived here in berwick since 2014. ok naman, i didnt have regrets so far. ive lived in essendon, box hill, wantirna prior to berwick. All suburbs are good but I cannot afford box hill and wantirna.

Traffic is bad and will get worse. I work in South Melbourne and yes i do drive from Berwick to South Melb every day. Pwede naman train but it takes around 3hrs a day, 1.5hrs each way. By car sometimes it takes me 50mins each way if no traffic lalo na ngayon COVID. I prefer car since flexi time ako and no hassle sa train. When the trains get replaced by buses sometimes pag may abirya, good luck sa biyahe mo.. mag work from home ka na lang.

Safety. Check mo yung Casey Crime Facebook Group. I suggest you join the group to get a sense of whats happening around your area. Yep, you will notice a few posts in cranbourne area, so gives you an idea which area/streets to avoid... But since 2014, so far safe naman kami. Generally speaking, its safe naman in Melbourne, just avoid crime hotspots, say for se suburbs since i know this area.. theres a few hotspots--junkies in dandenong and mga kolokoys sa cranbourne...

Its good for the kids, lots of schools. You need to check the zoning map so you know which area to target, i.e left side or right side ng clyde road?, depende yan sa school... research mong mabuti. Heres another tip, if u have a toddler, apply mo na agad and list sa kindie.. the list is too long sometimes, better get a headstart..

Hospital is great and accessible. Tawid lang ako ng freeway and Casey Hospital and the newish St John is there already. Lots of clinics around, like i can walk to my local doctor in brentwood.

Church. I go to Narre Warren.. may banda.. i love that place. Theres also pinoy mass in Berwick every 3rd sunday of the month.

Grocery. Coles in Eden Rise, orberwick south sa high street or the big o fountain gate. Take your pick.

Bunnings u can decide whether fountain gate or sa clyde. Bunnings is your friend pag may bahay ka na.

Well eto lang ang afford namin during that time $400k 2014, im sure it will be nice to live in box hill or glen waverly basta ba may $1M ka eh.. but looking back im happy with this place and i think the whole fam bam enjoyed staying here and hopefully u guys too.
