For Accountants - how long did it take you to get a job?

Hello po, just to get some ideas and tips po. For accountants, gaano po kayo katagal nakahanap ng work?

@rolf021 - hi there! i was blessed to get a 3-month contract after about a week from landing. i sent online applications a month before my flight and tinawagan ako ng headhunters tapos nagschedule ng personal interview sa week ng pagdating namin sa Oz. After 3 months, ginawa akong permanent sa work. Still with the company now, 1 year na ako and looking forward to more years 🙂

@mark_y - yep!dito na ako sa Sydney. Still looking for work rin kaya exploring all means para makahanap ng job. Sana maraming masgshare ng experience. Merun pa ako nakita offering internship pero walang bayad iyung nakita ko. Merun na ba nakatry?

@psychoboy - nung May 15 po kami dumating dito sa Sydney. So far..rejections parin natatanggap ko.

Galingan mo para ma refer mo kami jan someday hahaha. Accountant din ako pero internal audit line. Balak ko mag shift to management accounting or sa compliance side someday. Mas marami ba opportunity jan sa Sydney kesa sa Melbourne?

Sure!Kapag may work na ako..post ko agad dito mga openings. hehe..Hindi ko alam kung mas marami opportunity dito sa Sydney..baka..kaso mas matindi rin ata competition.

Accountant here also.took me 5mos to land my first job as accountant.agent helped me for the post.

@rolf021: Walk-in will probably get you far if you are talking about local small firms... For big institutions, I highly doubt! 🙂

By the way, what was your experience previously?
