Ma earn ko kaya un CPA designation sa Aussie if I passed US CPA but no CPA status due to license requirement? Do I need to take exam? As per US CPA, my experience can be verified by Australian CPA meaning my supervisor or boss should be a Aussie CPA and then he can attest my experience para makuha ko CPA ko sa US. Then applying MRA between US & Aussie I would be a CPA in Aussie. I don't know if my idea is correct? </blockquote>
Regarding your question, i think you should enquire on ICAA instead of CPA Australia, as AICPA is affiliated with ICAA/CAANZ via Global Acctg Alliance. Medyo tricky yung situation mo kasi "baka" dapat may CPA license ka talaga and have a good standing status as member of AICPA for certain number of years, i'm not sure. ICAA will not give the CA designation that easily based on my opinion. I am also doing CA at the moment pero nasa foundation courses plang ako (the 2 required subjects to complete before the 5 modules).
Going back to the topic, medyo odd ang experience ko with regard to looking for a job here. Within a month of looking for jobs here, i've got a lot of calls but majority are from headhunters (16 headhunters/ recruiters and about 5 direct companies). But ofcourse majority of those are getting to know interviews lang sa mga recruiters. I've only applied via seek and there are few from friends referral. Got a job within a month of applying (Arrived May 10, Started sending resumes around May 25 due to adjustments/settlements, First day of job June 22). There are few interviews na hindi ko na napuntahan since nagstart na ako magwork nung June 22, mahirap na tumakas for interviews (medyo 15 mins kasi travel time to CBD tsaka dyahe na lagi ako absent bago palang sa Company). One is with VAGO for auditor position (contractual lang), pero same day ng interview ung first day ko sa job.
Importante din na set-up mo ung voice mailbox mo kasi may mga ilang recruiters na nagiiwan nalang ng message dun (without email), at mag return call ka dapat. Kapag hindi ka nag return call, good bye na ung opportunity na yun.Mostly calls are after 2-3 weeks after submitting your resume kasi may shortlisting period pa. May mga interviews ako na feeling ko tlaga i've screwed it, some i felt i did an excellent job pero di ko pa rin nakuha ung position π. Parang manhid na din ako, pero the brighter side of things is may mga tumatawag naman kahit paano. I would say competition here for a job is so tough, and pinaka challenge ko talaga dito is to really impressed the interviewers, prepare prepare prepare, sell myself and improve my english communication skills kasi tingin ko dun ako talaga bumabagsak hahaha. Pero, continue the fight with your hardest punch, and upgrade.
Goodluck to all new Accountant migrants and applicants
