WE FINALLY GOT THE GRANT!
Subclass 190 – NSW | 23 April 2025
After years of relentless waiting, heartbreak, and quiet perseverance… the day has finally come.
I started this journey back in 2018, holding onto hope for an invitation that never came. I took the PTE exam five times, chasing that Superior score—twice retaking it because the results expired between 2019 and 2023. Each test brought its own pressure, but I kept going.
Then, out of nowhere, in November 2023, I received a pre-invite—from NSW, of all places. The invite felt like a breath of fresh air after years of stillness. Lodged our visa on 29 November 2023… then the long silence resumed.
No word in 2024. We started to question everything.
Then on 20 March 2025, we got a Section 56 request for employment documents. A curveball. We thought if we were to get picked, it would be a direct grant. But that moment allowed me to reconnect with past employers, and I’m deeply grateful for the support I received.
And then… on 23 April 2025 — the day we’ll never forget — four emails from Immi popped up.
I burst into tears. All the emotions—frustration, exhaustion, hope, and joy—came rushing out. I called out to my wife and kids, and together we opened the letters. We were granted.
This is more than a visa. It’s the closing of one long chapter—and the beautiful beginning of another.
