Hi there! I’m a migration agent myself. When dealing with a registered agent, make sure you ask for their MARA number. If they have this it means they are qualified to provide advice. To be qualified, one has to do a post grad course in Australian immigration law and practice so make sure you are dealing with a qualified one otherwise you’re being ripped off. Unfortunately, there are a lot out their who capitalise on people’s dream for a better future. The best way to search for agents is via www.mara.gov.au you can search via location if you wish. Just a tip when you check the mara number, the first 2 digits represents the year they first registered. For example, my MARN is 1171933 - this means I first registered in 2011. This then will be an indication your end to gauge how much experience the agent you’re looking at dealing with. Checkout the Mara website and try to search for agents and get quotes from them, shop around before you decide which agent to go with. More often than not, having the chance to talk to them would also help you decide if that’s the right agent for you.
All the best
