Mahal talaga Australia, I swear. Brisbane nga is not the most expensive city pa ha, pero lahat dito mahal. From rent to groceries to damit to health services. And taxes, mataas! Hehe. ๐

Doc @Nadince and ma'am @nfronda, may na-iipon ka po ba kayo every month? Compared to SG salary and expenses (including remittance), mas malaki po ba naiipon nyo po?
One of my concerns ko rin po ang tax sa AU.

But the thing is, I'm earning better here. And even with the tax, mas may natatabi ako dito kahit papano. Kahit pa mas mahal dito at mas nakakapag-remit ako dito more than in Sg. Totoo, masakit sa bulsa talaga. But don't let that stop you talaga. We are quite lucky to be working here really. Also, mag increase yung sweldo mo every year because nagkakaroon ka ng local experience. ๐
What you can do is salary package. Pag dating mo dito, ask your company about it. Ang nangyayari with salary packaging kasi, it can decrease your taxable income. So in essence, bumababa ang bracket mo sa tax. So, lesser ang babayaran mo sa tax. Also, pwede din mag voluntary contribution ka to your superannuation and get it pre-tax.
But it's a start.
