Hope AU considers the approach of Canada for immigration processing. I heard they did not halt on-shore visa granting even if they're not from priority sectors (e.g., health). I think risk of COVID due to inbound travel is very limited kung on-shore naman na ung iinvite nila.
Para at least mabawasan yung mga submitted EOIS lol. I'm offshore btw.
I'm just curious what portion of the EOIs now are onshore/offshore and based on below data, 14% (2,200/15,600) ng mga may at least 90pts ay may AU study (so i assume, they're still in AU now or onshore).

*not sure if AU study, includes Regional study
I am assuming that changes to immigration processing for onshore applicants is because Australia is really focusing on addressing the urgent needs (health sectors). This is disappointing (I can relate with you because I am not in that priority sector either), but this is the way it is for now.
As for the onshore-offshore invitations, the points are really sky-high because a lot of people can only get the additional points while onshore (Australian study, regional study, professional year, etc). Whether pandemic or not, biased din yung points-tested system to occupations that have access to professional year, STEM industry, and regional study. It's frustrating I know, pero wala tayo magagawa dun. We either wait to get invited, or do something to get higher points (whether onshore or offshore).
I'm going to guess that AU study just refers to the 2-year study, not taking into consideration the regional area study.
