IELTS for Dependents

Hi, for Skilled Independent Visa 189, website states that dependents over the age of 18 must have passed an IELTS with an average score of 4.5 in all the four modules. But I got information that a diploma would suffice. I have a BS Degree in Biology where the medium used in teaching is English. Can someone please confirm that I need not take the IELTS Exam?

It says there that you should provide an evidence that you have completed one of the following at an educational institution <u>where all instruction was conducted in English</u>:your primary education and at least three years of secondary education, or at least five years of secondary education.

How can you prove that all instructions were conducted in English? Will an English diploma suffice?

@edr189 - get a certificate of english as medium of instruction from your college/uni..

Submit that together with your diploma.. That would be enough..

hello po. just want to confirm. no need for ielts for dependent? kc plan nmn ng husband ko mgtake ng ielts together. bale c husband ang dependent, he has cert n english ang med of instruction. he took ielts n rin last 2010.

@yhanie kayo gagawa ng letter then pa certify na lang!sa school mismo nung dependent mo pwede kumuha. Sa skul ko kasi meron na silang form na pwede irequest eh. Try m ask sa skul nya baka meron.nakakuha na kasi ako last time. Though depende ata sa skul kung meron na talaga clang ganung certificate na biibigay.
