Does age matter in terms of Migration plan?

Hi, some of you know that i am someone processing and very eager to migrate in Oz.

I have stable job here in Manila, and I earn more than enough to cover expenses for a good life.

Good life means, be able to have 3-4 meals a day, take a vacation occasionally. Eating out and just enjoying a simple

family life. I am 38 and have a 1.5 yr old son. My husband is a house husband because he takes care of our kid.

My concern now is that, im into IT. There will come a time that my skill will no longer be needed here, plus the fact that age matters in the corporate life.

My question is, does age matter for migration? If I would be able to go there nearing 40 already.

Can I still succeed? Can we still get jobs?

I am thinking ahead of the future, and wanted to secure my kids' as well.

Please enlighten me.

Yes for me ,... companies will still hire you even if you are 65 no discrimination in age here 🙂

meron kaming kasabayan ata na same age mo the last time we talk she really had a very good income and property 🙂 of course it all depends on how good you are

@raiden14..no, age doesn't matter here in finding a job.. your willingness, determination and experience ang tinitingnan nla.. my dad got sponsored by his employer at his age of 49..

It matters lang sa points 🙂 like sa case ko, i need to be invited bago mag-40 next yr; otherwise, bawas puntos at posibleng di na umabot sa passing points 🙁 think positive nalang po.

chiko, you have the max points for experience and education.. di pa rin umabot ng 60 including SS?

@raiden14, kung ako sa yo sisimulan mo na mag gather ng requirements for ACS assessment and prepare and take IELTS. Malaking points ang mawawala once you reach 40.. 15 points na lang for age. mas mahirap na makapasok sa quota na 60 points.

Me, 45 an accountant, graduated when accounting was still just one of the majors under BSBA. Looking at the core subjects being assessed by CPA Australia, I knew that my assessment will not be suitable. Instead I applied under student visa (still in process). My school application to take Masters in Accounting Practice was not exactly rejected, rather they offered me Masters in Professional Accounting. Ilang beses kong ginamit ang point system calculator ng pinoyau para malaman ko lang kung may pag-asa pa ako.

Hi @raiden14, aabot ng 65 kung maipapasa ko IELTS. Kaso nakaka-2 tries na ako, laging nagkukulang ng 0.5 pts sa 2 bands. Ito hurdle ko ngayon 🙁

Tama sabi ni @rams, pagtungtong ng 40 ay 15 pts nlang for age. 10 pts mababawas bigla, laki nun. Puwede kang mag SS pero 5 pts lang madadagdag. Enough lang maging 60 pts to pass. Kaso bali-balita iyong SS na lilimitahan for IT positions. Sana hindi mangyari iyon ng matagal.

hi @rams and @chiko_au - im done with ACS assesment.. im short 5 pts din.

i also took ielts 2x, ang masakit Listening ko lang sumabit ng .5 pts. so retake. 🙂

but i will never give up 😃

Hi @raiden14, same sa akin. Felt devastated ako sa result ng 2nd exam ksi alam ko I did better than the 1st except for listening na alam ko may ilang naging technical problems. Sa ngayon, hintay muna ako result ng re-mark ng 1st exam ko for the next couple of weeks. Kung negative result, retake ulit ako 🙁 Hay, sana makuha na natin 'tong IELTS na ito. Yes, will never give up din 🙂 Makukuha din natin iyan!

Hi @raiden14 and @chiko_au - nkkrelate me s inyo. I'm 33 yrs old with 2 todler. Mtgal ko n gusto mg oz pero now lng kmi ngpursigi. Iniicip ko tuloy bk late n ung start nmin. Kya nga b nming mgtake ng risk khit my maayos kmi work here and at this age.

Pero my heart sas gusto ko tlg no matter what it takes. Nka 1 exam n rin d pasado take n lng ulit by sept.
