Airfare - Manila to Australia (One Way)

@johnvangie plan ko when may visa grant na is to get MNL-SYD via Cebu Pacific. gusto ko sana direct MEL pero mahal. Check ko nga ngayon at nasa P21k lang with 120kgs combined baggage + 3 set meals for me, my wife and daughter for my hypothetical departure of mid october 2014. if MNL-MEL, cheapest is around P65k-68k for the same configuration via Air Asia. i think if I do SYD first meron pa siguro 2-3 days of city tour and visit friends then fly to MEL. laki pa rin matitipid. just my idea. 🙂

@cgm thanks for the suggestion. Do you have relatives in Sydney? Wala kasi kami relatives or friends kaya mapapamahal din kun mag stay pa sa Sydney.

@johnvangie wala ako family pero meron few friends. same din sa melbourne walang family. plan is get a hostel for 2 days sa sydney na around max of $75/night. madami sa airbnb or agoda. then maybe fly na lang to melbourne or do a train if feeling adventurous. i'm thinking kasi na you get a feel sa sydney then see the scenery even before pagdating ng Melbourne. do you happen to know ba if ang trains from Syd to Mel have luggage restrictions in terms or size and/or weight? thanks

@cgm Ah good idea nga kaso budget constraint kami hehehe.

Yung friend ko na tuluyan namin sa Melbourne, galing din sila NSW before nag Melbourne, pero nag airplane sila to Melbourne.

40kg + 7kg handcarry + laptop bag ang dala namin ni hubby plus un sa anak namin kaya mahirapan siguro kami kung train.

Tip, meron din palang super saver fares ang qantas. From a base fare of 30k, we got it for 16k (savings of 14k PHP), 30kg plus 10kg for migrants.

Question lang po... Im on my student visa, ok lang po ba na one way fare lng yung pinabook ko pauwi ng philippines? Multiple entry po ang nakalagay sa visa grant ko. Indefinite pa po kc yung date ng balik ko dito sa melbourne. Sabi po kasi sakin nung friend ko dapat daw po 2 way yung pinabook ko...

I have friends on student visa and they only booked one way fare since wala pa naman silang plan bumalik ng pinas agad. And wala namang naging problem.

By the way, first time po namin mag Singapore Airlines pauwi sa Pinas, magkalapit lang po ba ang Terminal 2 and 3? Ung Arrival namin sa SG wala kasi nakalagay kung saang Terminal lalapag. Pero yung Departure from SG to Manila ang nakalagay ay Terminal 2.

Terminal 2 and 3 sa Pinas? Yup, magkatapat lang yun, pero mas convinient sa Terminal 3 in terms of taxi tska malapit sa skyway

@bookworm how much po total yun fare nyo sa Qantas? Yun all-in fare na po?

@johnvangie For MNL-SYD-CBR, total is about 27kPHP. Total baggage is 40kg.

Reasons for taking Qantas:

This is the only airline with connecting flight to CBR.
We don't want to be carrying all that luggage from one airport to another, or bus, or train. Eventually, we can, but not for this first time move.

@peach17 - magkatabi sila... pwede mo lakarin, pwede din mag monorail which is libre naman. Sydney and Melbourne departure and arrival are in Terminal 3 and yeah lahat ng going/arriving Pinas na SQ will be in Terminal 2.

Uy parehas pala tayo nag scoot. Pero cebupac to sg ako january naman. Mejo mas mahal lang kasi peak season yata january. Update mo naman ako kung ano experience mo with scoot 🙂
