Accommodations: Looking for accommodation in Toowong, Brisbane

Just arrived last week and im currently looking for accommodation in Toowong. Solo Room. May mairerecommend ba kau?

Hi michiko, wala pa ako sa Aus pero nakakuha na ako ng accommodation by messaging Filipino community groups sa fb based on my region. Surprisingly, may mga buy & sell groups din sa region ko kaya I managed to find an accommodation in a Filipino residence. Actually 2 yung nahanap ko after a month of searching. I got mine at $180 weekly (including bills) in Northern Rivers, NSW.

Sa regional area ko po dedicated yung group i.e. Filipino Community in Northern Rivers

I've never used FB groups when looking for accommodation, but perhaps you can also try and check out the Filipinos in Brisbane group.

Is there any particular reason why you prefer Toowong area? Perhaps you can cast a wider net and find a place in nearby suburbs? And south side generally has cheaper rent.

Ah ok. Maybe consider Indooroopilly, Taringa, St. Lucia, Auchenflower? At least if ever magcommute, malapit lang hehehe. Toowong is near UQ kasi, so medyo in demand ang rentals dun, especially for students. My friend lives near Toowong Village, she currently pays AUD 310 pw + electricity for her 1BR apartment, although that will go up to 350 on her next contract. There have been crazy price increases in Brisbane, so just a heads up on approx. rental pricing. :neutral:
