Hi! Agree ako kay @momnijosh08 re: training to get oz qualification, kahit short course lang sa TAFE or other RTOs. In my case, yung course na kinuha ko was quite basic & ang laking subsidy from the government so I didn't pay much. Dito sa Queensland, if you don't have any Cert III/IV qualifications, they encourage you to take to enhance skills & improve employability kaya subsidised.
& may mga programs na kasama yung Work Experience where they help you connect with potential employers, train in the company for a couple of weeks (without pay), but if they like you, most companies would hire you na afterwards. You can still continue applying for jobs while you're taking the course (usually 3 days lang per week considered full time course na), and if you get a job during the course, may option to continue in the workplace, that is, kung related yung course sa nakuha mong job.
Sobrang win-win. Instead of waiting around at home for calls for interviews, you're learning or refreshing your knowledge, getting around & interacting with locals, & you get local qualification & a potential job in the end.
