Philippine Bachelor degree equivalent to an Australian Bachelor?

Hi guys,

I went to the Ateneo de Manila University and completed a 4 year Bachelor degree in Science.

Does anyone know if this is directly equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree? Or if there is a certain GPA I need to have achieved before it is assessed as being equivalent?

Any insights will be greatly appreciated!

@retrolife Ateneo is under section 1 school. For sure you can claim 15pts as it is equivalent for an Australian Bachelor degree. 😉

@retrolife - based on previous experience of members here, degrees from schools classified as section 1, like your school, are equivalent to AU degrees..

so the answer is yes..

Yes. Confirmed Ateneo graduate here and claimed the points successfully. Low grades lang po ako nun college.

@mhej - meron list sa taas pero hindi updated.. but you can use that just for info..

go to "More" (tabi ng sign-out button) >> drop down to "School Section List"...

i have read that Cebu institute of technology school is under section 2 but this information is not updated...now,my question is since Cit newly became a university...my chance ba na ma under cya sa section 1?..and in my application, what will i use CIT or CIT-U?...hindi pa kc university ang CIT when i graduated...but when i get my TOR,CIT-U ang nka lagay...

Matsnong ko lang ano ba equivalent or ibig sabihin kung yung school mo ay under Section 1, Section 2 at Section 3? Thanks

@isidro023 pag nasa section 1 ang school mo ma-awardan ka ng equivalent to Australian Bachelors degree, then ganun din pag nasa section 2, Pag section 3 sila yung nabibigyan kadalasan ng lower credit usually lower than the AQF Bachelors degree, like for example kahit Bachelors degree na meron ka nagiging AQF Diploma lang sa pananaw nila...

Malaking BUT kahit nasaan kang section at for example may PRC ka OR five year course, equivalent agad yan sa AQF Bachelors degree...

Hello Everyone, I'm a BS Computer Engineering graduate at AMA Computer College (under section3).

Do you think it will be assessed as a bachelor degree (15p) or diploma (10p) only?

@DontStopBelieving saang campus ka nang AMA? May nababasa ako pag QC AQF Bachelor sila though basta ntapos mo sya ng five yrs considered sya as aqf. Ilan ang naging total units mo?

@KualaKangaroo AMA Makati Campus Sir. BSCoE is 5 years course pero dahil trisem po kami natapos ko lang cya ng 4 yrs. Hindi ko pa nasisilip total units ko, dito po ako office. May kinalaman din po ba total units? Thanks.

@DontStopBelieving From what I know and based sa mga nababasa ko on other forums yes. Nagiging basis nila ang number or years, total number of unitd earned, course content, PRC and super LEAST consideration on grades.

Based on other AMA COE graduates AQF Bachelors naman nakukuha nila. Just an advice I think it is not a college it is a University for Makati branch? There's a distinction din kasi ang school na college sa isang University.
