Contributory Parent (Temporary) visa (subclass 173) & Subclass 143

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has applied for this visa already. How long did it take for the visa to be granted. Is it worth it?

Pwede.. Pasado sa family test.. Pero ang tanong ppasa kaya sa financial test?! Hahaha... Ang mahal lang ng parent visa... 🙁

After discussing to my parents, we have decided that it's not reasonable to spend thousands of au of their visas.

@cpa_oct2011 hello wala na ba talaga ng attempt nito? Medyo naguguluhan ako sa fees nila, when I use yung calculator AUD 3,735.00 lang. Bale dalawa na sila dian, or Im thinking baka 1st installment lang yan. Sana may iba pang inputs about this visa.

@guenb ang hirap i-explain e.. All i can say is as for me it's not reasonable. mas ok pa yung tourist visa since 3 years ang binibigay sa parents and way more cheaper.

@guenb based sa reasearch ko din e mas mura temporary nga muna then after 2 years dapat makapag-apply na nung pang permanent. Gusto ko pa din i-apply parents ko pero wala akong nakilala pang ginawa na to eh

Contributory Parent (Temporary) (Subclass 173) $2490 main applicant + $1245 for any additional over 18. Then 19K should also be complied:

19k The second instalment (payable before grant of visa):

Applicant who:

was less than 18 at the time of application; and

is a dependent child of an applicant for a Contributory Parent (Temporary) (Class UT) visa: $2095

Applicant who Applicant who is a contributory parent newborn child: nil

Any other applicant: $29,130

so that means before the visa grant payment will be $29,130 that's a lot.

Then

Contributory Parent (Migrant) (Subclass 143)

Applicant meets conditions defined in Note 19b

Base application charge $325

Additional applicant $165

but then there's also a note 19J

19j The second instalment (payable before grant of visa):

Applicant who was the holder of a subclass 173 (Contributory Parent (Temporary)) visa at the time of application: $19 420.

Applicant who:

held a subclass 173 (Contributory Parent (Temporary)) visa; and

was the holder of a substituted Subclass 600 visa at the time of application; and

is not described in item 3 (below): $19,420.

Been reading your posts. Yes, contributory parent visa 143 costs too much, but decision can be given earlier rather waiting for years. This subclass is designed for those who are intending to do parent visa and receive quick action from DIBP, AND for those who are capable of meeting the fees as outlined in the Regulations. The $29,130 is not the total expense. There is a second VAC. Expenses should from $40,000 to $50,000. 🙂 If you have further questions, feel free to ask and I will try to answer them as efficient as I can. GOD BLESS! 🙂

Im planning to apply my mom in Contributory Parent (Temporary) (Subclass 173).

sobra namn mahal? right now brother and sister ko nasa Australia na. Sister ko citizen na, brother ko is PR. ako nasa Malaysia.. mag aaply ako ng PR next year (di pa kasi ako qualified )

my other cheaper ways paba na makapunta mama ko sa Australia. hiwalay na sila ng tatay ko, pero walang papeles.

Kaya lang sobrang tagal nito, if tama yung nkita ko sa fees up to $6000 lang yun. Baka pwede nman ganito na muna e apply ng siblings mo, then get her a tourist visa while waiting. Mabilis naman pag parent yung tourist visa, then multiple entries pa up to 1-2 years.

I've checked pa na may Assurance of Support which costs 10k AUD. So 10k + 40k + secondary applicant = at least 50k

@EXCEL, tama po ba pag both parents, yung isa primary then isa secondary? Kasi may nagsabi sa akin dati na hiwalay silang application so 2 primary applicants daw sila e ang mahal nun sobra. Thanks in advance.
