Mas concern po ung assessing body sa degree ko rather than my experience sa work ..cguro po ask n lng po ako ng practicum sa school ko pero sa secondary level po tma po ba? 2nd question po pag halimbawa po naging suitable result kaso pag nag pa skill ponts po ako ma zezero po ba ako job related experience? Kc po primary ang xp ko? Bababa po ba points ko?

If you're planning to find work in NSW, then you'll have to apply for assessment from ACECQA first, because the ACECQA assessment is a requirement to be accredited in BOSTES (http://www.nswteachers.nsw.edu.au/current-teachers/early-childhood-teachers/).

Then, if you decide to work in QLD in the future, you can always apply for Mutual Recognition (https://www.qct.edu.au/registration/nz.html), so that it's easier for your teaching qualifications to be approved. 🙂

With regards to experience, they will be looking at all RELATED work experience. For instance, in my case, my nominated occupation for Visa 189 is Pre-Primary School Teacher, but I still claimed work experience because I have a 4-year experience in teaching in elementary school.

In the same way, even if your nominated occupation is Secondary School Teacher, you may still claim work experience from teaching in preschool and elementary. So, hindi naman po maze-zero ang job experience. Hope that clears it up for you, ma'am! 🙂

Yess it clears my worries... mwah itong site n lng valentino ko hehehe malayo c hubby... mkakagawa napo ako ng mga grades ng pupils ko dami ko kc iniisip for a greater chnce to be granted.. big tnx and God bless... kala ko mag resign pako at mag apply sa high school.. kwawa nmn bunso ko kc dun din sya study sa school where i work.. 😉

Yes ma'am, you don't need to go so far as to resign from your job to satisfy the work experience requirement. 🙂

@sunflower mam addtl ? Po, ung 45 days po ba na supervised tchg ay regardles sa number of hours or yung 45 days ay multiply by 24 hours na puro sprvs teaching lng? Kc pag na divide po sa 6 hours aabot po ng almost 6 mos tas remove pa ung weekends ..pra pong ang haba.. may post po ba dto regarding this tnx po..

The 45-day supervised teaching requirement is only a minimum. So if you have more than that, then good. As far as I know, AITSL hasn't indicated any hour-equivalent to it. 🙂

Parang mas madmaing job opportunities sa qld (we are 10mins away lang naman from qld), so if ever i find job in qld, no need to register anywhere? I can just apply? Or need pa rin ng assessment from acecqa?

Job as in as ECT ba ito? To be an Early Childhood Teacher in QLD, you just need to have an ACECQA-approved degree/diploma. In the Qualifications List for ECT, Diploma, or Certificate III found here (http://www.acecqa.gov.au/Qualifications.aspx), FLCD is not listed. But, under the Working with Children Over Preschool Age page, it is listed (http://files.acecqa.gov.au/files/Quals/2016/ACECQA-approved-qualification-list-OSHC.pdf):

University of the Philippines

Bachelor of Science in Family Life and Child Development

Diploma-level or above

Philippines

QLD

Also known as at least a '2 year relevant qualification'

So since it is in the ACECQA list after all, you might not need to apply for assessment anymore. Yun nga lang, I'm not sure if you'll be allowed to be employed as an ECT or only as an Educator for OSHC (Outside School Hours Care), because that's where FLCD was listed.

You can always email ACECQA for clarifications (enquiries@acecqa.gov.au)? They reply quite fast. 🙂

Alternatively, you can also apply for teacher registration through the Queensland College of Teachers (www.qct.edu.au) if you're interested to teach in Primary School and have the necessary experience.

Also, just an addition. Magkaiba nga pala ang Early Childhood Teacher at Educator:

<b>Early childhood teacher </b>is a person with an approved early childhood teaching qualification. Centre-based services are required to have access to or attendance of an early childhood teacher. The requirements are based on the size of the service.

<b>Educator</b> is an individual who provides education and care for children as part of an education and care service.

Hi! I'm new here and I just want to know if someone can help me with my queries. Our family will be moving there in June as permanent residents in Adelaide. I took up Child Development and Education in College and my work experience is basically Early Childhood. If I want to teach preschool or child care, should I ask ACECQA to assess my qualifications? What if I plan to make a small child care business at home since I have a one year old son, should I go to ACECQA as well? Thanks a lot.

Welcome to PinoyAU! 🙂 Check the ACECQA Qualifications page first to see if your degree is listed there (http://www.acecqa.gov.au/Qualifications.aspx). If it is, then it means you are already qualified for ECT. If it isn't, then yes, you will have to seek for an assessment of your qualifications.

Hi everyone! May sped teacher po ba dto?

My visa grant was released in september 2015. My initial entry was in december 2015. I only stayed in sydney for 4 days and did not apply for anything. I just had to get the initial entry over and done with to fulfil the visa 189 requirement.

Anyways, i read about the nsw, qld, vic overseas requirements for special needs teachers. I guess with vic and qld, i can apply for a provisional license by just applying online and sending the requirements via courier.

For nsw, i need to secure a wwc card. So i need to go back to sydney to do that. Now my concerns are:

I would like to confirm if my assumption is indeed correct that i can start applying for my teaching certification in either qld or vic even if i am not physically in australia.
Same goes with sydney. Can anyone confirm that i do indeed need to be physically present in sydney to get a wwc card since it is one of the req'ts.
Experience is the best teacher so i hope we have other special needs filipino teachers here who can give me some advice on how to go about teacher certification and job search as a sped teacher anywhere in australia. 😃

I kept on telling myself, "this too shall pass..." since going to australia is a pretty big move. Your answers to the posted questions calm me down a bit. 🙂 but still, please help.
