Hi,

The title speaks for itself 🙂. Do you need a permanent address to apply for a TFN? We will be residing on Westin for 3 weeks while looking for a permanent home that is why I am asking.

Yes.. They will be sending your tfn thru post approx 4weeks aftr your application..

You can only apply if you are onshore...

You can try applying now but it will not enable you to do so as you may still be offshore.

IF you are applying NO

If you got hired they will give you a form to either apply a new one or declare your current TFN , no biggie not having one

If you can get it earlier, pwede na rin para wala na gagawin when the time comes that you will move permanently in australia...

Is the permanent address relevant apart from it being the sending address of your TFN? Let's say after you get your TFN, will it matter if you're still in the address you specified? I'd like to know since I still don't have a permanent address so I'm thinking of having it mailed to a friend.

Gusto ko na kasi ma-cross off sa list of things to do ko yung TFN habang wala pang masyadong ginagawa.

Nagtry ako pero eto yung sinabi. "Your details indicate that you are eligible for a TFN but you have not yet arrived in Australia. Please wait until you arrive in Australia before applying for a TFN."

Nakapag initial entry na kami a week ago, then bumalik kami SG. Dapat ba ginawa ko siya before kami lumabas ng AU?

You need to be onshore to be able to apply for a TFN - when you entered your passport kasi, connected ito sa border security ng Australia hence ATO will know if you are onshore or offshore at the time of application.
