@Hunter_08 , paano ba ma-view ang result? Di pa available yong sa akin? Prolonging the agony pa 🙁 kasi yong binigay ng British council na site wala pa. Strader, how about you? Good luck pa satin... I still trust God's provision whatever the result.

kung pasado kana sa EOI 189=60 pts.. submit mo na ang EOI mo..

mostly mga 60pts ang naiinvite ngaun dahil nainvite na nmn halos lahat ng matataas points..

pag hindi ka nainvite until june.. then saka ka mag retake ng ielts para pag refresh ng occupation limit sa Jul 1.. mataas na ang points mo (70pts EOI will give you higher chance of getting an invite)

@lock_code2004, nagpasa na ako ng EOI agad kc first come first serve na pagdating sa 60 points notice ko lang kc na 2 months pa ang waiting ng mga 60ers which means marami kami nakapila sa 60, so I thought it would be necessary get ahead lalo na yun skill ko paubos na at ang dami nagaapply sana naman ireset mila to skill na to sa July at wag nila remove. Hopefully I can get better score sa next ielts para maupdate ko yun EOI before sila mag round sa 3rd week ng June. I'll leave it to God, sana nga may dumating na invite bago ako mag bayad ng ielts 8k na naman kc nakakarami na sakin si IDP

Let me share all the tips and advices i got from my teachers...

Speaking = please avoid at all cost slang or colloquial words. For example, yeah? (it's always YES) what? come again? My hommies!!! It is conversational and perfectly understandable but won't give you a lot of bearing sa examiner kasi hindi siya formal english. If in case you did not understand the question, say, I'm sorry. May I ask you to repeat the question? Never, what? huh?

Eye to eye contact (smile appropriately) = integral

Variety of language = very important (for example the topic is school change the vocabulary and say curriculum, alma mater, courses, subjects i took, where i graduated etc etc). It is also expected that you speak in 3-5 complete sentences (with varied structures) when asked a specific question especially in part 3 of the speaking test.

Be confident! Grace under pressure!

Lose the pinoy accent (dapat neutral yan, be conscious about your p and f, b and v, long a short a, long i short i. etc etc... practice and time yourself. Huwag tumigil sa kakasalita. 🙂 Magbasa din ng newspapers para may masabi. Widen your knowledge.

Writing = The use of connecting words? (not so sure) is very crucial to make a cohesive essay. On the other hand, Nevertheless, In addition to, In conclusion, and sentences which states your stand... Yes, I agree, No i do not agree. Without these, your essay is just chaos. Learn to use them, Practice practice kasi automatic deductions pag hindi mo nakuha ang minimum number of words. Variety of language is also very critical. (i.e. important, integral, crucial). Importante din ang tamang pagbreak ng paragraphs.

Reading = Read the questions first, highlight the keywords para alam mo na ang hahanapin mo at hindi mo babasahin ang buong essay. Pag nakita mo na yung keywords yung sagot malapit lang dun. It's either before or after that sentence or the first sentence or the last sentence ng paragraph kung san mo siya nakita. Chronological din ang pagkakaayos ng questions so wag babalik para sa sagot. Importante din ang yes/no/not given. Wag paganahin ang imahinasyon. Pag hindi sinabi or iba ang sinabi NOT given na yun. Pag kulang or sobra sa sinabi, NO yun. Always practice at dapat may time limit.

Listening = easiest exam for me. Magsulat ng notes. Pag may inulit, ini-spell or idiniktang name / number, assume nyo na sagot yun. Practice listening to a lot of accents para masanay ang tenga. Manood ng CNN, Discovery Channel or BBC pag naiintindihan nyo ang anchor ng walang subtitle, you're good to go.

Yun lang po. sana makatulong. Dinibdib ko din yan kasi usually 6 lang rating ko sa writing at speaking sa mga drills.

60 points lng din ung points ko nung nagpass ako ng EOI on Feb13 tas nakareceive na ako ng invite on Feb18. so i think as soon as you reach 60 points submit ka na agad ng EOI. then just pray hard lng and trust in Him. everything happens for a reason. =)

@Hunter_08 , got my results retake din ako, L/S - 6.5, W - 5.5, R- 7.0. Alam ko na rin sa sarili ko not enough aral ko 21 days LNG review ko. Khit free road to ielts ko di ko na 50% review dun sa lahat ng module. Sa reading di me confident naka 7 pa ako. Aug pa retake ko. Dami pa kc policy tatapusin sa work. Good luck ulit sa atin 🙂

@tutik thank you... IDP/British Columbia ang magpoprovide ng pencils pag dito sa manila ang exam; at pwede din magdala ng mongol number 2. Bawal ang neon highlighter, kung ito ag ibig mong sabihin, Use your pencil to mark your questionnaire. Kahit ano isulat mo dun, ok lang.

tanong ko lang po sa writing... kapag sinabi po ba to what extent do you agree or disagree... this mean na need ko pumili ng isa side lang po di ba? at hindi kailangan ipakita both sides? kasi nalito po ako meron po nag sabi sa akin na ganito way to answer the task 2

@arlene5781 para skn po both sides ksi may nabasa ko na uunahin mo kng saan hndi ka agree tpos next is kng saan ka nag agree..ksi mas okay kng ma discuss mo din parehas para mas mapakita mo kng bakit ka mas agree dun sa isang side ng argument.

If in case you got this type of question, there is a reason why they have provided you 2 pages of paper for writing task 2.

First page is for the side you are opposing. Give at least 3 reasons and supporting reasons why that view is advantageous and why some people will agree with that.

Second page is for the side you are agreeing with. Provide at least 4 (to make it stronger than your first argument) and build your case from there. Do not forget connecting phrases to give your essay a proper flow.

I am advising you that prior to writing your essay, create your arguments first in a bulleted form. Para hindi kayo mawalan ng momentum as you are writing your essay (na madalas mangyari at usually nakakaubos ng oras kasi hindi mo na alam ang isusulat mo).

I'll give an example: Some people believe that studying abroad is better than studying in your own country. To what extent do you agree... etc etc

If in case you are in favor of studying locally dapat ganito ang format ng essay mo.

In favor of studying in a foreign school

Reason 1: Gain more knowledge and mileage to your resume

Reason 2: Increase your language skills

Reason 3: Expand your personal and professional networks

Page

In favor of studying locally

Reason 1: Cheaper

Reason 2: Ones does not have to overcome culture shock

Reason 3: One can be with family and friends (having your support system while studying)

Reason 4: Schools locally can be competitive with schools abroad in terms of quality of education

Then your conclusion, reiterate why you are taking that particular stand.

Again, do not forget connecting phrases, proper paragraph-making and variety of language. Always write in the third person and put PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.
